How do yall deal with anxiety?

As some of you might know, I have suffered from anxiety about 3 years ago. I did not know any better at that time, so I kept it away from my parents. My mom has also suffered from cancer twice when I was only 4 and again when I was 7. Thankfully I have gotten help and I am better now, but I do not know what is happening right now. So recently we just drove for about 2-3 hours to stay in Palm Springs for summer vacation. I want to enjoy my trip as much as possible, but my head is completely flustered. As a result my weight has gone from 38-40 kg (I'm 4'9) in just one day and I haven't been able to sleep well. I have tried everything but I can't cope with my anxiety.

Anyone have any advice?

i have learnt to know what triggers my anxiety, and distract myself before it builds up more.

I found if the anxiety was building up, if  went and found a family member and talked to them about a random topic ,it helped.

Get engrossed in a show, watch something n youtube.

asmr videos help me get relaxed too. but  recognizing what are your triggers and knowing how to cut it off when it slowly builds might help.

I've suffered from anxiety for years and years. Here's some tips:

  • avoid caffeine because it can make your anxiety symptoms worse and also disturb your sleep schedule.
  • exercise. even if it's yoga or easy movements like tai chi, try to do something every day to "tire" out your body and mind.
  • try journaling. you can keep track of trends in your sleep anxiety level by keeping a journal.
  • meditate.
  • avoid triggers that make your anxiety worse (don't know what triggers you? please keep a journal)

and i agree with the above poster asmr videos are really helpful. hope something here helps you! good luck!

Keeping myself in positivity (which also helps me with my perspective) has done wonders for my anxiety and depression. I also do the following gratitude meditation every morning before I begin my day. The tips posted above are great too. Just keep working on managing your anxiety and you'll feel better soon.

Disconnecting from the world helps me a lot when I'm overwhelmed. I do yoga or pilates to focus on my breathing, forest bathe/go hiking to just listen to nature and get fresh air. Listening to music also helps too. Sometimes I choose a song that makes me sad and cry. Crying helps me relieve my anxiety sometimes, so I cry to get all my negative emotions out of me. I even look for happy/feel good stories to make me cry; not just sad things. Staying hydrated and getting sleep is also another way to help with anxiety.

I try to avoid my triggers the best I can as they also aggravate my OCD. Sometimes I can't avoid them though so I try to ground myself to distract my thoughts away from them. Actually, distraction is probably what I do the most to try and cope with my anxiety. I'm embarrassed to admit that I have a fidget cube to help me when my anxiety is really bad and setting off my OCD worse than it usually is. That said, since I bought myself a fidget cube (with much scepticism about it genuinely helping me) it has surprised me by how much using it has helped me. I can also hide it in my palm while I click the living daylights out of it.

When it comes to trying to sleep with a busy brain, I like to use ASMR videos on youtube. I like nature and car journey ones the most with no talking or music. I'm currently using a 'Highway Driving in the Rain at Night Daegu to Seoul' video and it's really soothing (search youtube for 'RideScapes').

I have to try not to cry because for some reason I get a really bad headache if I cry. Sometimes, I know I need a good cry but I don't let myself cry because I don't want the headache that I know will follow.
