[Pannchoa] JYP states that Stray Kids' Hyunjin was donating and volunteering during his self-reflection time

JYP Entertainment has officially announced that Stray Kids’ Hyunjin will be returning to group activities after a four-month hiatus.

 

On June 26 at midnight KST, Stray Kids surprised fans by releasing their new mixtape single “OH,” which featured all eight members of the group—including Hyunjin, who had been on a hiatus from group activities since February.

 

Later that morning, JYP Entertainment stated, “During his break from activities, Hyunjin has reflected on himself while donating and participating in volunteer work.”

 

The agency went on to announce, “Starting from July, Hyunjin will be rejoining Stray Kids’ scheduled activities, and he plans to show an even more upstanding attitude and mature mindset during his promotions.”

 

In February of this year, Hyunjin temporarily halted all activities after one of his middle school classmates posted on an online community accusing him of having verbally abused them during their school days. According to JYP Entertainment, after Hyunjin met with and apologized to his accuser in person, the two former classmates resolved their misunderstandings and are now “cheering on one another’s futures.”

Idk maybe it's just me.. and he truly could've been genuine when he did it.. but JYPE just mentioning the fact he spent his reflection hiatus doing volunteering and donating in a situation like this (announcing his return), makes those actions come off / feel not genuine, questionable, and like tacky pr mediaplay.

No comment on him, his scandal, or return tho.

That would be me! IF it will be revealed that during hiatus, he volunteered in some kind of a crisis center (that supports abused people/women or something similar), I will give him a benefit of a doubt  and think that he is really trying to atone for bullying so many girls. 
IF it will end up only with this broad statement from JYP, a company which lied about caring for the character blah blah blah, I will still call it vacation

So many girls? There was only 1 or 3 I heard of. But other than, I don't know what took place during his hiatus.

More than 3 from what I remember (but even then aren't 3 female victims bullied by 1 man a lot?). Not all of them forgave him too, but of course JYP would twist it in the ones we were able contact part. Exactly my point - nothing is known other than this JYP statement and it's pretty obvious where JYP interest lies in all of this. So we will see or we won't

I heard that he always did volunteer work starting at his debut tho, not just during his reflection period. Not sure tho.

And it doesn't matter what he would do, you guys will just twist it to something negative.

I agree that it's a red flag he bullied girls and he should have apologized sooner. I also don't know if i should trust him. But you don't know what the situations were. Maybe he really regrets it. You don't know that. You can at least consider the possibility that he might have become a better person.

Oh well, fans don't care about it. He isn't gonna lose fans anyway.

How do you know that jyp twisted it to that? It could be that might be the truth, maybe you are right. But you can also maybe consider that she really never showed up? You don't know the truth, don't act like you know the truth.

Bet his stans know all the truth u___u and us, just mere mortals, shouldn't even consider that this part of the statement looks very shady and should obviously consider that only those who didn't forgive him JYP had trouble contacting. Like it's just SO logical. I got it. Anything else I should and shouldn't think?

I didn't say I wasn't, I think he deserves a second chance to prove that he's not the same as he was as a child most of us aren't the same as they were as children even if he didn't apologize for it right away or before his debut doesn't mean he hasn't changed.

PS I'm not even a fan, before his scandal I had just noticed him all I know is he's good looking and he can dance

I knew he was volunteering for a while now, this is no surprise to Stays. I just don't like JYP using it for PR, it makes the effort feel invalid somehow.

 

I agree with the knetz in that his reflection was too short. But I also had a feeling he'd be back for their next comeback so what I think doesn't matter, JYP is going to do what they want. I'm giving him a second chance, but I want him to do his job and dance, and not bring any more negative press to the group.
