IZ*ONE Could Be Coming Back ; Multiple Member Agencies Agree With Relaunching The Group

In a new statement, the fans behind IZ*ONE‘s relaunch project have confirmed that most of the IZ*ONE members’ individual agencies are on board with plans to re-debut the group!

IZ*ONE disbanded on April 29 this year, but over a week before that, fans were already working hard to keep the group together. Back on April 21, WIZ*ONEs from fifteen Korean fanbases launched an initiative called the Parallel Universe Project with the aim of raising funding to show IZ*ONE still had a future together. Within just 10 minutes of launching, the crowdfunding project on Korean platform WADIZ reached a staggering total of ₩738 million KRW (about $650,000 USD).

Within the first 24 hours, funds surpassed $2 million USD, and the total now sits at ₩3.18 billion KRW (about $2.80 million USD). Of course, alongside raising funds, the Parallel Universe Project also had to make headway with the members’ agencies. After the group disbanded, every member headed back to their original companies:

Jang Wonyoung and Ahn Yujin to Starship Entertainment

Choi Yena to Yuehua Entertainment

Kwon Eunbi and Kim Chaewon to Woollim Entertainment

Jo Yuri to Stone Music Entertainment

Lee Chaeyeon to WM Entertainment

Kim Minju to Urban Works

Kang Hyewon to 8D Creative

Miyawaki Sakura and Yabuki Nako to Japanese agency Mercury

Honda Hitomi to Japanese agency DH

In a recent video with Doyouram on YouTube, the head of the Parallel Universe Project revealed that the team has been in contact with the members’ agencies for quite some time—with one CEO getting in touch before the campaign even started. Alongside an unnamed entertainment label CEO who’s been delivering proposals on the WIZ*ONEs’ behalf, the team reported that things were going in a “positive” manner back at the end of May.

Now, there’s been a new development. In an update for Parallel Universe Project backers on WADIZ, the team announced that the entertainment management agency helping them has been negotiating with the individual members’ agencies for the past two months. Less than two months since the project was launch, the team now confirms that almost all the members’ agencies have expressed interest in relaunching IZ*ONE!

The team has also verified that except one Korean agency and one Japanese office, all other parties involved agree with the idea of IZ*ONE’s relaunch and that they are working favorably with the negotiating agency.

Only one Korean and one Japanese agency are yet to agree to the idea of re-debuting the group, though the statement didn’t reveal which. That said, they did confirm that they’re currently “looking into” these agencies, likely with the hope of convincing them to join. Nothing is set in stone yet and no contracts have been signed, but if said negotiations go well, it’s possible that IZ*ONE may really come together as a 12-member group once more.

Read the full Parallel Universe Project statement here:

For the past two months, each of the members’ agencies has received multiple proposals regarding the relaunch of IZ*ONE from the team of IZ*ONE Relaunch Project admins. Some agencies have responded to the proposals and with those agencies, the team has met up with a spokesperson. The fundraising platform WADIZ has also been in these meetings with the agencies’ representatives.

The team focused on approaching these individual agencies strategically. That being said, one entertainment management agency has since taken on the task of negotiating with the individual member agencies about the members’ contracts.

The team has also verified that except one Korean agency and one Japanese office, all other parties involved agree with the idea of IZ*ONE’s relaunch and that they are working favorably with the negotiating agency. We’re looking into the said Korean agency and the Japanese office who have not yet responded.

feels like noise marketing a bit, but at the same time i wouldnt be surprised..? like its been 2 months since they disbanded and none of the agencies have announced any plans for the girls. the agency that isnt in it is 100% starship though.

I'll only agree with this if they finally put Sakura as the True Center, not a back up dancer.

Im soo annoyed. These obsessive creeps need a new hobby. Sakura already signed an exclusive and luxurious contract with BigHit, now they are going to make her feel and look bad.

Realistically, I could see some of the members being re-debuting as an unit. Some companies don't seem to have a concrete plan for the members. Like, it doesn't seem Woollim is gonna add Eunbi and Chaewon to Rocket Punch or debuting them as duo/solos either, and Yuehua doesn't seem to add Yena to Everglow either. Idk.

Well why hasn’t BH announced it then?

If they didn't have plans for the girls why wouldn't they have agreed to the initial contract extension? How much could have rly changed in two months? imo the reason none of the companies have announced anything official in terms of redebuting is bc wizones have been in such baby rage mode and none of the companies want to be the first one to crush their dreams and be deemed 'the one that ruined it'.

Like honestly guys the girls have known about the date for two years now and have 100% planned for it and no doubt many are genuinely excited for what's next. Just because they cried at the disbandment doesn't take away from that. I might cry at the end of a play I was in but it doesn't mean I'd want some randos to force me and all my friends to keep doing it indefinitely. I find it ironic how the crowd that proclaimed  "izone is not an object" are now acting like they can just buy their favorite toy back without considering the emotional rollercoaster they're putting these women through. Companies agreeing favorably to a possibility of something and actually sitting down and agreeing on terms and investing money are extremely different things (see the ioi reunion) and the odds of that happening are extremely low. If I were this group I would focus on getting a proper in person goodbye/reunion concert or fanmeeting in 2022 as that's likely the best compromise for everyone involved whereas #izone_permanent is a delusion.

I understand both side . But I don't understand the whole "this project holding them hostage and let them do what they want" , when it was revealed some of the girls wants it .

The thing with CJ is...they were the ones who disagreed to a contract extension while other agencies agreed to it. Trusting CJ is the worst idea ever.

Spoiler

As a huge Wiz*one, I'm against this project for various reasons, my biggest one is they probably won't be Iz*one anymore, we are talking about a different management, different group name, everything is gonna be different.

They would face a lot of hate too...remember they had a huge scandal back then, we were lucky to have them back.

I want the members to be happy, together or by themselves. If this is successful, of course I will support them, I just don't feel it's right, and just like other user said, the project is kind of selfish. Even though some of the girls would agree with this, part of them have their whole career from now on planned, there is a reason why Sakura graduated the moment she could and why Yena has been appearing way more on variety.
