Jung Ilhoon has been sentenced to 2 years in prison for habitual marijuana usage

So sex offenders, abusers, drunk drivers who lead to (nearly) fatal circumstances, etc get leniency in South Korea

But they draw the line at using a plant that harms no one

😤

Such a dumbass system

This is a good start though, right..?

It is. They said she could be sentenced for three years but her parents are powerful rich people so I’m doubtful. That’s why she’s been able to get off scot free practically. She got a plea deal during TOP’s scandal and stuff.

I feel so bad for the guy. “ The law is law” is bullshit when it’s not fairly applied everyone who breaks it.

I just hope these two years will not break him. I can’t imagine being in his position when shitstains like seungri and zico have gotten away scott-free, or other rapist and violent celebs get reduced sentences. It’s all a joke.

I hope more people will support him when he gets out.

Some people are gonna think “The law is the law” but don’t understand how absurd this is specifically & generally.

SK are creating a society where using a mostly harmless substance is more problematic than actual harm/abuse towards someone else, and giving harsher sentences quicker

Imo no one should be going to prison over weed (cuz it shouldn’t be illegal in the first place), but to give it such a harsh sentence is even more despicable

I really do wonder what their democratic parties do over there because with the way the look at LGBT & Marijuanna, they look like republican 2.0

In the case of HSH, she (or her family) are filthy rich so obviously the "justice" turns a blind eye.

Exactly. She has been able to get away with a lot. Her family pays off the cops and judges. I think during TOP's scandal involving her she was already on probation and violated her probation. She was able to get a plea deal by telling on him basically.
