Why do people say JYP treats his girl groups better when he doesn't even let them produce their title tracks?

Clearly Twice have been involved in the music making process lately, but they still have absolutely no input in their title tracks.  Meanwhile their baby brothers gets full creative control over their projects.  Sure you can say that JYP lets his boy groups do what they want because he doesn't care about their success, but if he was truly concerned about his girl groups he would have hired the top producers to make fresh title tracks instead of doing it himself knowing that his own songs don't even top the charts like that!

JY Park has virtually no say in stuff like that, at least I'd assume he doesn't

He is the CCO of the company so yes he is the one deciding those things.

Got7 stans used to spread everywhere that jype treated the girl groups better and that was the reason twice was way more successful, in the end was just them being delusional because they also laughed about how jype didn't promoted twice members solo careers, didn't gave them lot of brand deals of photoshoots or how they supposedly live in dorms infested of cockroaches or some bullshit like that.

I think those things have more to do with the groups being managed by seperate divisions and the company's overall priorities than the opinions of one man tbh

Sometimes we forget that treatment of them as humans is not the same as promotion of them as a product.

I think it is clear there is a bigger effort to push Twice than pushing their other groups. And that’s fine because girl groups need more help than boy groups. They need constant care when it comes to their branding and promotion. And I think this is part of the reason they have less musical freedom, JYP feels that he knows how to make a hit (and he has the resume to back it up) so it’s less risky than letting the members come up with something.

Also, (and this is just my wacko cynical suspicion) I feel like he knows girl groups are more popular with the GP, so he wants those hit songs attached to his name, because it adds to his overall legacy. I feel like this because JYP still likes being a celebrity. He is one of the few (maybe only?) big company owners who still has a musical career.

I guess it depends on the gg too, because I don't remember Miss A being promoted that well, and ITZY's promotions are kinda underwhelming compared to Twice's promotions in their first 2-3 years.

But it's still better than how they promoted GOT7 in the last few years and how they give SKZ "complete creative freedom" because they can't be bothered lmao.

It's not the opposite tho? GGs (especially from big companies) can easily chart well and have a hit even with little promotion because the GP checks them out while it can take years for BGs even from big companies to have a breakout song or gain a decent fandom (see: NCT, SKZ, etc)

Itzy & TWICE are basically getting the same promotion. They only difference is TWICE had more comeback & CFs

No offense, but that definitely went both ways. I used to see Onces all the time say that JYPE favorited GOT7/their boys groups better and take shots at them as well.

In reality, pretty much all of their groups have had similar issues when it came to promotions and management, just to different degrees.

could go both ways. I've seen once saying how jyp was treating got7 better because they got solos and mocked their truck project even. when jihyo specifically stated that they wanted to focus on group activities awhile back and even eventually did a truck protest as well. It really all just boggles down to management as each division has their fair share of problems. It's not a competition.

This just tell me you really know nothing about jype works and how much influence jyp has in the creative decisions.

I barely saw any of that, what I saw was ahgases doing the most to portray twice as the privileged group in the company at the same time lying themselves got7 was bigger and more successful than them, of course once had the discourse got7 was flops so it was both ways but ahgases were the shittiest ones in the situation.

Both fandoms were throwing shit to each other but ahgases were the shittiest ones.

And again, Onces did the exact same thing to GOT7. Having follow both Onces and Ahgases on twitter, I saw a lot of back and forth between the fandoms. Rumors were spread, names were called, it was completely childish on both parts.

Anyways, my intentions aren't to paint either sides as bad guys or innocent victims. I'm merely saying that this behavior certainly didn't help and was a factor in the whole debates on who JYPE treated better. And again, in the grand scheme of things, many of the issues each fandom had with JYPE and how they treated and promoted everyone was pretty much similar. There may have been certain things each division did slightly better for one artist compared to the other. But each fandom had issues and if fans like that actually paid attention, maybe they could focused their energy on something more productive than argue and be completely petty.

Yeah no we didn't, most of the times onces just said got7 were flops and twice were bigger nothing compared to what ahgases did, from  keep spreading those Nayeon instagram bullshit rumors, that edited photo of mina, slutshaming and saying all sort of vile things about the girls to say they were untalented, can't sing, etc got7 stans always were the one doing the most and starting things every time twice got something they thought was a privilege from jype. Onces discourse was that everyone in jype was mistreated but ahgases never listened and keep saying the same thing over and over again.

I've stanned a jyp group, I think I know just as much as the next person

day6 jae has even talked about people's perception that jyp controls everything being misguided and he's literally in the company

At this point, I don't think there's really much more to say to you. You seemingly want to use this to victimize the fandom, when that wasn't the intention and isn't even what this thread is about anyways. I saw all these things happen with my own two eyes on this forum and on social media. If you didn't see everything, that's fine. But this isn't meant to be a competition.

The irony is that despite JYPE's incompetence and our fandoms acting out, both groups did extremely well and pretty much were neck and neck in terms of bringing the success the company wanted and needed.

But , you seem dead set on your narrative so I dont think there's a need to go further with you.

But more comebacks counts as more promotions. ITZY literally have comebacks every 7-8 months despite being still rookies while Twice was having 3-4 comebacks per year until 2019. They felt much more "present" than ITZY in general.

There is not narrative, that just how things happened. The ones pushing the "jyp treats better the girl groups" were always ahgases with the other boy groups stans of the company for their own delusional reasons. The rest is just another story.

That could be the case with him and day6 not with twice, jyp controlling how company idols sings or perform has been a thing since forever, he's the one choosing the songs since he's the CCO of the company, he even put his voice in twice in ears so they have to listen to his creepy voice while they are performing, the man is just a egocentric bigot with too much power in a company so of course he take advantage of it.

Considering it was a Once that took the effort to watch Jayb's live and screen shot a blurry picture and accuse him of such and such and it getting so big to the point where the company and the guy himself had to put out a statement...and GOT7's been out of the company too soo...Like I said it's not a competition. It's not even the issue here.

To the topic at hand...

I don't think they're not trying with Twice, JYPE has their hits and misses like every other company.

Also, tbh think there's  an underlying misogynistic belief in the kpop industry when it comes to letting a female, much less a member produce their own content.  When you think about 'self-producing idols' 99% you'd think of a boy group. Not a girl group. JYPE also has trust in JYP the guy himself and his music. There's a committee where the songs get chosen, and it's not surprising that they'd pick JYP's song most of the time. But overall, there's lesser control given to their girl groups than their boys groups because they simply don't have that much confidence in their musical abilities as much. It took the WGs's such a long time to be able to do what they wanted really.

Stray kids is lucky because they so happen to have debuted around the time the term "idol producers" have become trendy. Their concept is 'self-produce" but if you don't think their image and music hasn't been vetted here and back by the company, then you're kidding yourself lol. Their one relief is that JYPE is more accepting and expects songs from the group itself because again, it's part of what makes their group. Got7 unfortunately debuted when the idea of 'self-producing' wasn't popular yet, and like 2PM had to earn JYPE's trust to be given some control of their musical output gradually.

And if it was someone from other fandom ahgases wouldn't had jumped and said and spread all the vile things they said like they did with twice, so it was just the hate train they always had for twice just with a dumb excuse this time.

Agree with the rest of your comment, we can even see jyp misogyny in small details like when a boy group make a company he post in his instagram about it congratulating them and giving advice but when the girl groups comeback is completely silent even if he was the producer...

Putting it in spoilers because it's off-topic.

Spoiler

I'm honestly confused and flabbergasted as to how you're trying to justify Jayb almost losing his career. The fact that someone directly, took the effort to do all of that? Is that not vile enough for you? Got7 had left JYPE, this was just recently. Like words thrown at each other, is literally just that, WORDS. They sting, sure, but at the end of the day, people will gtfo the internet and call it a day. Going so far as to almost jeopardize someone's career just because of fandom rivalry bs, over petty bs??? like income and if their group is getting treated worst or better? I don't know how you can justify that.

I've read your comment to @moonjellyfish and if you're referring to the  Nayeon instagram rumor with Yugyeom, you've missed the part where YUGYEOM was included?? And It blew up because it was posted on PANN, a Korean site and the original tweet was from a Blackpink twitter fan account. That edited photo with Mina also INCLUDED Bambam!??? Both fans were attacking each other!!!????? And things such as 'they can't sing, are untalented etc etc', it's not only people from the GOT7 fandom spewing things like that? There's literally tons of posts in regards to criticisms about that of Twice, and if you would get out of the Got7 tunnel vision and hate-train you're forever on, and look at the comment sections I can guarantee you, you'd find less Got7 fans all up in there. I'm not saying the Got7 fandom is innocent, but Onces are far from it as well. You're the one in here who came in swinging about them in the first place and going off topic really proves my point.
