Where should I start with the Produce series?

Should I watch Produce 48 or Produce 101? And which season? People reference these shows a lot but I have no idea where to begin.

If you want to watch the series, then start with the first season of PD101.

I'm still salty about PD48 (and disappointed w/ some parts of season 1) but if you know about the evil editing and that the shows are rigged then you'll do better.

oh you meant among the  3 countries lol honestly ive religiously watched the korean version only. i started produce japan but the episodes started getting really long (like 3 hours and it wasnt even the finale) so i gave up. never watched produce china or idol producer

produce 101 s1 (in korea) is iconic honestly, it was new and fresh and the girls were talking shit

I would say Produce 101 S1 and Produce 101 China (2018), 48 is quite boring. Chuang2020 is nice too but the eps are too long

always start with produce 101! started the iconic franchise (despite the pd's gross reason....) and it gave us some terms that people have used in the show or to describe a contestant, such as 'avengers team' or pulling a 'yeonjung'

tbh, i only watched the korean version, because it isn't as long and drawn out from what i've seen compared to the chinese versions. and i tend to dislike the chinese versions due to the chinese entertainment's liking for soloists, rather than groups. so, almost all of the winning groups will just debut and come back together for their last comeback, with the majority time of their contract being spent with the members doing their own solo activities, like acting, singing, modeling, etc. pretty much, produce 101 china is perfect for solo stans, not great if you want to see the group post-win.
