Ok so lemme be the unpopular opinion then...

People are getting too used to these hard ass choreos that are just hard for the sake of being hard, they don't look "good" or precisely technically good or something they're just tiring. And every. fucking. group. nowadays has that type of choreo going on. I'm G L A D SM hasn't followed that trend (yet) with aespa although NCT has shown signs of it (but they're Testa children so that can't be helped at least he makes technically good choreos). I hope they don't follow that and do whatever they're doing, these girls don't need to pop their joints and backs to appear like they're good dancers... Honestly speaking this song AND choreo are good enough, people are just used to... extragant looking stuff nowadays like I said. Next level for ME is a breath of fresh air as is aespa even though Black Mamba had the hook composition to the song. Yes I don't want them to be just another group with loud music and pointless hard choreographies, I want POINT moves B A C K and they're giving me it

lmao, so nct is not a sm group?

and also, blackpink does not do this hard choreos too, another note to add on how sm is trying to copy blackpink

look at what the dance was suppose to be, they had to downgrade it for aespa

It's a good thing they changed, cause honestly I don't think Aespa can manage/carry it.

There's lots of easy choreos too. Let's say recently,  stayc asap choreo was really easy but still cute and well executed with expressions and stuff.  But this was the lamest choreo I have seen in ages and every member looks bored, except ningning. SM needs to get them better choreographers and more dance/charisma lessons. I dont mind aespa not being great dancers though,  they serve vocals unlike others.  But since these 'dance' stages are usually lipsynced anyway, yeah they need to step up. Atm winter is the only one hitting the little pops.

I just watched the performance and I think they stuck well to their concept. It's Cyber Punk so the "robotic" expressions make a lot of sense. Especially since there weren't a lot of negative talks but rather praise for their stage precense during "Black Mamba" I suppose people are just expresssing their dislike for the execution of the Cyber Punk concept in general. This does not mean that Aespa or their concept don't have room for improvement (they're only rookies so obviously they do) I just think that considering the concept, they did well?

I mean, yeah, but also I don't think the original fits the song completely save for some tidbits here and there, tbh.

to me all of this comments confirms that aespa is going to be one of the top 3 grps of the 4th generation if not the top 1

They'll probably become a top group because the standards are different now. Idols just have to look good to make it - charisma on stage is not needed, live singing is not needed, catchy song is not needed.

Really.... but but but everglow,  purple kiss, weekly, tribe why are they not top groups yet. I want them to be a top group I mean they're all good looking.

you know that is a lie 💀 if that was true, loona + wjsn would've been a top gg by now, all the post produce groups wouldn't have flopped or struggle so much, and brave girls wouldn't have garnered a number one hit if all those criterias weren't checked. their literal reason to fame was how they interacted and performed on stage, how good minyoung is at singing, and how good and catchy the song is, lol (along with the funny comments).

it's funny bc... weeekly, stayc, and aespa literally have songs that have risen on the chart due to one of the reasons listed above. weeekly's after school rose on melon because of it's catchy nature, which is why it went viral internationally. stayc's so bad and asap also rose because of it's catchiness, but also because of their stage performance, and live singing. aespa is from sm, of course they'll get attention. and while their songs have not been the most universal friendly, it's an earworm (like most of sm songs) and that reflected on black mamba and next level's charting.

Also the original dance looks much more impressive.
