China took measures to ban every idol audition program domestically in the future

Meanwhile, Youth For You 3, the show where BlackPink Lisa was participating as a mentor got cancelled ahead of the finale.

original post: here

1. Ahead of the finaleㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

2. Cancelling the finale is severeㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

3. People were wasting so much food in mukbangs that they had to restrict them too, I don't think it's the voting system themselves but the fact that people were wasting so much food no?

4. Wow right before the finaleㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ They're on another levelㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

5. A communist country being able to vote is so bizarre in the first placeㅋㅋㅋㅋ  China pulled a China in the end

6. F*cking hilariousㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I'm just gonna laughㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

7. Does this mean that we're gonna have more Chinese members participating in Korean audition program? Please keep them in China..

8. It's because they wasted so much milk to vote

9. I bet that they hate the fact that people were able to vote for the national idols

10. Is this because of the recent scandal??? That guy who was #1 contender??

11. Because of the milk??

12. Wow the other trainees are pitiful ㅠㅠㅠ

13. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ  Me too I hate audition program, but an entire country banning this is amazingㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

14. Hul because of Tony?

Well it's not really surprising before the milk incident China had put a strict no food wasting law in place but there is just a lot controversies around this show, but honestly the companies are kinda stupid for not predicting that milk fiasco would happen fans are crazy.

So is cpop over?

Not necessarily because there's still a lot of big and mid tier companies (TF, Yuehua, OACA, Wajijiwa, Jaywalk, etc) that will probably debut their own groups regardless if there's audition shows or not.

No, but it's wild how both the korean and the chinese produce ended in less than 2 years. But at least in Korea they can keep doing audition shows similar to produce with a different name/format. No wonder so many ex contestants from ywy and chuang went to girlsplanet 999. If they ever do a male version next year I can also see a lot of ex contestants from ywy and chuang male seasons going as well.

This too. Like the only ones the GP really knows are TF Boys. Nine percent was known because it came from the very first season of idol producer but they did basically nothing as a group so...

I think idol groups could continue debuting under their own companies, but it's not like anyone aside from fans are gonna follow.

Both ended after Tony arrived

I've seen a lot of memes about how "he ended both the Korean and Chinese produce" and while the Korean ended due to the rigging scandal, he was in that season too lol.

huh? what happened?

for YWY3, in order to vote for your favorite oppar, fangirls had to buy bottles of mengniu milk (one the the main sponsors of the show) and scan the QR code on the bottom of the cap.  This, to no ones surprise, resulted in tons of milk being poured out just for the votes.

mess, I always hated the whole "buy extra votes thing"

why not just ban that though? banning all audition programs ever feels like a major overreaction

Because in China, the only man you're supposed to be idolizing is Xi JinPing

Not only that. One of the contestants (that was also in the last season of korean produce) got involved in a huge scandal because his parents used to run a prostitution and drugs ring.

yep, especially because when that happened the contestant was literally 2-3 years old, like ?? how was he supposed to know what his parents did? not to mention it affected the other contestants as well and all the future contestants. It's really fucked up.

thanks to Tony and his parents and his shitty company for ruin this kids future

i feel so bad for Lian Huaiwei the most this is his second chance and he was 100% going to debut

absurdity is buying boxes of milk bottles and then dumping out the milk just so you can vote for your oppar.

I don't think not being in an idol survival show ruins your future.  Some people are stuck in a genocide.

It's actually bigger mess than "wasting food". That's one of trigger but the concern is more about the voting system where big amount of money should and would always be collected from fans.

There was a trending story where a kid used their family's not so big saving money to vote their fave.

I would exclude the kid himself. His super shady but powerful company and the parents are fuckers indeed. Oh and his fans too.

Oh I'd like to add that the food wasting also happened in last season, also trending, but the mess wasn't significant since there's no "yjt situation". Also the milk/yoghurt voting has been there since the very first season of China's produce series
