so male groups are considered greater than female group

Starting in the 2000s you started seeing more female fronted bands than in previous decades. The reason, especially in the rock world, male fans are extremely sexist and expect these women to be sex goddesses. Maria Brink from In This Moment sexualized her own image in the first few album cycles of the band's career to gain attention. Now that she already captured a good fanbase she switched her image to this witchy woman. Amy Lee wasn't sexualized because she wasn't targeting the heavy metal audience. (Before someone is like WHAT ABOUT AMY LEE.) Taylor Momsen sexualized her image to break away the image that was created for during her Gossip Girl days. Now she is doing rock how she wants to.

In the 80s, you had Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Deborah Harry...and that's all I can think of currently because the rock world WAS a man's world at the time. The women were expected to be video vixens. White Snake had Tawny Kitaen (RIP) moving around on a car for a song that didn't need that. Warrant had a very sexualized song called Cherry Pie. Women were expected to be objects for the male gaze.

But this is one random channel. It all depends on who is creating the list. Metal Hammer could have more female bands than this channel does.

Now we are seeing more women in rock and more men not expecting them to be sex objects.

a band & a group are not the same thing mate I thought this was about kpop groups

female bands were never been popular not even today there's just a stigma about them

in Japan the only popular female band is "Scandal" I have watched a documentary of bands in Japan and I recall a female guitarist from I don't remember what the band name was! talking about when she wanted to start/join a band and the agency told her why not become a singer instead and wear like some sexy stuff and what's not etc.. cause playing guitars is not a female thing < and that's like in the 2000s let alone the 80s/90s
