how they chose not to conform to shallow south korean beauty standards by getting surgery like other female kpop idol groups ..and for that they were called ugly even by their own boss, bom and dara debuting in mid 20s and not teens, cool unique hairstyles for iatb and deep -songs

I thought park bom got a heck ton of surgery...? am i wrong?

Yeah but it happened a few years after their debut, I think OP means how they are not conventionally pretty (Except from Dara) in a society which is so focused on looks like SK.

I think the fact Dara and Bom debuted quite old for a female idol is a really powerful message, there is this ageism towards women because society thinks they are past their prime after a certain age which is ridiculous. Now we have Brave Girls who are doing extremely well and their maknae is 28 y.o, age is not a indicator for success.

She did, eventually but their popularity exploded before she did (maybe cause he boss was calling her ugly to her face, which SHE WAS NOT. NONE OF THEM WERE. He effed with their heads).

Anyway, I was thinking how they changed the game with their edgy, strong images.
