aespa's 'Next Level' is a remake/sample of A$ton Wyld‘s Next Level

Recommended Posts

sm buys a lot of songs - f(x)’s hot summer, snsd’s run devil run, boa’s better and so on but they always modify it so i’m not expecting it to give the same feeling as the soundtrack one especially since we already hear the pitch is higher. love the beat tho.

fans are angry online because it was released by a big account... i understand that it kinda kills expectations and excitement but honestly it just makes me look forward to hearing aespa’s version

SNSD Dancing Queen too.

Anyway I'm glad I was busy all day and I didn't hear the F&F one first, I hate when people find out the demo/another version before the songs comes out, it ruins the experience for me.

Only their 1st comeback and they're already being given old songs. And it's not even a good one. 😬

dude it's basically an sm tradition. snsd, fx, tvxq, shinee etc, all did songs that were originally released by a western artist.

I feel like it's more like sampling than a remake because the original song is very short and I can imagine some parts of it have been cut too. That would be barely or not even 2 minutes worth of music and they would have to complete it.

I still refuse to listen to this song because I heard Duffy's version first and it's the true OG

Joy tho. She's gonna make a debut with an album full of remakes.

I guess SM is having so many debt rn, they can't even afford to make their own songs.

pretty sure buying a song costs more than having your in-house producers create one lol

Two things.

First - The song's composition and lyrics are so simple and cliche, I'm confused why sm didn't ask in house producers to make something with the same feel; instead of buying.

Second - The song isn't even 3 minutes long. It's their first real comeback and they decide to give them such a short song?
