Red Velvet's Joy will reportedly be making her solo at the end of May

Red Velvet's Joy is the next member of the group up to make her solo debut, according to media outlet reports on May 12. 

Insider reports say that Joy's 1st solo album will be released some time by the end of this month. The album will contain a medley of remake tracks, a signature Joy is known for from her past drama OSTs. 

This will mark her official solo debut approximately 7-years after her debut as a member of Red Velvet. Back in April of this year, Red Velvet's Wendy became the first member of her group to release her 1st mini album, 'Like Water'.

Not surprised solos are coming out with the members having upcoming contract renewal leverage. If they wanted solos and got them that means SM is still interested in them (but don't take this for gospel, I'm just pulling this outta my buns though).

Does anyone know if Seulgi wants a solo? I hope so.

You think? Fx had 2 members who preferred acting to being an idol (Krystal and Sulli) and a leader who was from China (and went back there and stayed, right? I'm a bit fuzzy on why Victoria left...I know things got super political and stayed that way). Fx was a bit splintered and, yeah, SM played a big part but 3 out of 5 of them had other options.

They can't wait that long. It'll have been nearly two whole years since their last group comeback. That should have been their first priority once Wendy was healthy, not all these solos. With the way things are going, I'm starting to wonder if SM plans on dropping Irene and keeping the others for purely solo work. They can't keep stalling just to keep her out of the spotlight forever.

It sort of seems like they're pushing full group comeback as long as possible until people forget about the Irene thing.  That's my guess.

On the one hand I'm glad Joy has this opportunity to shine on her own, she deserves it, but I was hoping for an ot5 comeback before summer. Don't mind me, I'm just being needlessly nitpicky.

Regardless I'm glad the girls were able to do solo activities, music and or acting, in the meantime.

I'm exaggerating a bit on the "to a T' part, I'm a Reveluv and I've made peace with the possibility that Psycho is their last comeback as a group besides an SM STATION track here and there.

Yeri said comeback is gonna be after she finishes filming her drama that she started on a few weeks ago.  Same day Psycho's producer also said July.

So Joy at the end of May and, according to their producer and Yeri, group comeback in July/August. I am very excited, the more music the better. 

Also, once again, if you follow RV even a tiny bit and think logically you would know this long hiatus was expected, compared to most other groups Red Velvet survives mostly thanks to the general public, after last year's scandal it's no surprise that SM would choose to be extra careful with their comeback.

Once again, I recommend some of you to keep your faux concern to yourself, you're not being very slick...

People wanted Irine to reflect and being on hiatus, but act surprised and mad when the whole group has to do that... RV wont comeback without Irene they are just being extra careful, even tho they are going to receive hate no matter what. RV is far from being treated as f(x) was, thank god.

Nah, there's still lots of money in RV. I don't know SM but I do know they love money plus the group helps rehab Irene's standing a little.

I hope I'm right too. I will never understand why SM didn't fully utilize cashcow SNSD (are tours just for male groups??) and destroyed them prematurely (unless the ladies were ready to do mostly solo activities?). So, I understand your paranoia.

I was hoping they'll add 2 new songs. I was hoping for more (upbeat/pop sound), especially since I don't like her OSTs
