Groups that was almost going to disband but then they had a hit song

I'm working on an article about these type of scenarios, as of now all I know is Brave Girls (already left the dorms then Rollin' reversal happened), INFINITE (Woollim was bankrupt, LJY even sold his apartment to produce Over The Top album whose title track is Be Mine), and EXID (literally nugus until Hani's fancam became popular). I may know some others but my brain is very very small so I don't remember.

Note: saved by hit songs only please

I dont think its a hit song example so i will put it under spoiler

Spoiler

To my knowledge Svt were preparing for inactivity if Mansae didnt do well, as pledis couldnt keep itself afloat. I remember it was mentioned somewhere but i dont remember where. Mansae is not a hit song, but it was somehow a mini hit? liked enough to fuel pretty u which did great

I can only think of Oh My Girl after Coloring Book, with JinE officially leaving the group that year, the underwhelming performance of the comeback, followed by a nine month hiatus before coming back with Secret Garden.

I also kind of remember an interview with Apink that they thought about disbanding after Only One, since the song didn't do too well and they didn't garner any wins. Contracts were nearing closer as well. But then Five bounced them back a bit. But someone might have to fact check me on that.

Crayon Pop, possibly? Their budget was like getting worse and worse with every comeback before Bar Bar Bar blew up, lmao. Maybe N.Flying's Rooftop as well? I wouldn't say they were disbanding, but it wasn't like their results were getting any better before that, tbh. I would even say Winner's Really Really as well, since the future was really rocky for them. Taehyun left, they just came off a long hiatus. Seemed like a make or break it single to me, tbh.

OH MY GIRL - they were told the group would disband if Secret Garden flop but thank god!

Was Secret Garden a hit song? I don't know much about it. Preferably if there are stats pre-Queendom...

It is not a BIG hit but a mini hit. It entered top 10 on Melon and other Korean streaming site when it was released. It was before Queendom.

In an interview (shared also through YNA), Yeonwoo shared about her worries for the success of Momoland's comeback with Bboom Bboom, which, as we know, eventually blew up in online communities to become a viral hit.

She uses an idiom - an image of a mountain - to describe the situation, for which an interpretation is made available here. Fansites took it one step further to provide a different translation: disbandment.
