Former AOA member Mina posts a bloody self-harm picture, lashes out at haters

Recommended Posts

i understand that she has been through a lot, but with the way her mental health is deteriorating she should stay away from social media altogether. every time i hear about her is because she post self-harm pictures.

apparently people have pointed out that there were inconsistencies in her statements so this seems like her way to shut them down. seems wrong in any way.

she’s not going to get the help she needs in south korea, they ‘experts’ there do absolutely nothing as we’ve learned from previous experiences.

edit: the picture is not hers, clearly there’s something going on with her that goes much deeper. i can’t read korean but apparently she’s making no sense in her words and is now in the hospital.

And the problem is also that more often than not psychiatrist will most likely only medicate you. Usually you get appointed to a psychiatrist to get meds. And given the culture around mental health in sk I can't imagine how bad this must be.

I wish she could find a mental health professional who would be able to help her. However at the risk of sounding harsh (which is by no mean what I want, I've been through a number of trauma including years of bullying, been through self harm as well so I do get some of what she's going through even if obviously I can't fully understand her situation since I'm not her and the circumstances are different) it can also only work if she's ready to get better.

It's a matter of meeting the right person at the right time, the right mental health professional. And this can be hard. I had the chance of meeting the right therapist at the moment where I was ready to get better but prior to that I've seen other therapist here and there. Sometimes therapy wasn't possible because of when it was in the week (like when I was a child), sometimes it just helped on the moment but since I wasn't seeing the problem yet it didn't do much. One that I had just prior to this therapist was just incompetent...

I still do have traumas to work through but I'm doing better and I know that there's therapy out there specialized in trauma. I wish she could have access to those if she's ready to fully open up and meet her traumas. Otherwise it can end up re traumatizing you.

I do agree that social media are bad for her at the moment given the hate and also what she might be consuming. Triggering yourself is a thing after all.

She needs attention and actual mental health care and I wish she could get it

Sidenote : as much as I hate the possibility of it it's possible that she's been through more than the bullying especially given the industry she was in and that could definitely make it even more difficult to recover

Might want to update the thread:

"Mina is currently hospitalized and seems to be okay. We ask for your continued support and love."

Really pulling for her, I hope she can heal eventually and have some peace. Having someone else handle her social media (if she must have it for work) is vital.

I hope this shows you that seeing a psychologist or linking suicide hotlines don't always work. Getting better isn't as easy as saying "get help". She has and has tried what she could to get better. I knew a guy who had been on every anti depression med he could obtain and had seen different psychologists his whole life (he was about 50) and he still didn't get better. Some people get out of it and some don't and end up struggling till they die. That's the sad reality.

Her being hospitaled 5 or 50 more times isn't going to help her if it's the same procedure.

Ugh wtf why?

As time passes, it seems like Mina did not say all facts. For example, the photo she posted this time seems to be taken off a gore website. When 1 things in your statements is fake, some peoples start to believe all you said was lie.

Where did you hear this? Because she's supposedly been hospitalized. She wouldn't be hospitalized if she hadn't hurt herself. 🤔

It went around on instagram and someone took it to a forum. I haven't seen it 'coz I don't have IG account. You can try if you have one.

You may also do reverse image search by yourself.

Where did you get the info that she was being hospitalized?

Omg I hope she is ok! she needs help 😞

I ve seen a lot of comments people saying she is an attention seeker omg PPL NEED to FOKIN STOP! this is not funny!

right? people are sick. and the worst part is that even if she was an attention seeker it wouldn't change the fact that their responses are completely wrong. 1. if she would go to these lengths for attention she WOULD STILL NEED PROFESSIONAL HELP! and 2. if she was an attention seeker then the harassing comments would just be feeding into that. so whether she's an attention seeker or maybe, just maybe, actually has serious mental health problems, then if you don't have something nice to say then JUST IGNORE HER! GO DO SOMETHING ELSE!

Things like this are really hard. I have a really hard time with ppl posting self harm pics... and I wanna be sympathetic as it's cry for help but seeing stuff like that vis triggering beyond belief for ppl. It is ingrained in my head still this time like..must've been like 3-4 yr ago by now...my friend (now ex friend) sent a pic in our gc of her wrist after she cut it. And similarly,  when I was a teen,  my ex burned herself after we had argument and told me ab it. Yhese are things I'll carry in my head my whole life. I get ppl are hurt but the part of me knowing how much I struggle with self harm...I just see it negatively when ppl post publicly these things for others to see - bc they're struggling and need help. But these things can set struggling ppl 10 steps back in their recovery.

In any case,  I do feel bad for her and hope she's able to get the help she needs.  I find it not an ok thing to post but I don't think she's looking for attn is bad way btw. Ppl harassing her to trigger her that way r out of line ofc

She needs to stay away from social media, maybe just create a private account for her family and friends. It’s a vicious circle at this point... she keeps getting hatred from netizens and posting triggering pictures. Her Instagram is not healthy for her and neither for lots of people dealing with emotional issues.
