ENHYPEN (엔하이픈) - 'Drunk-Dazed'

imagine being this powerful only a few months into your career, ugh

love the song, choreo, and mv. my main gripe is the production quality on the vocals are really obvious with headphones... i don't know if i'd rather take muffled bighit production vocals or very sharp, reverby ala bts and txt production vocals, lmao

hybe is defiantly experimenting musically and conceptionally with enhypen. and the results seem to be doing very well

I don't want to exaggerate but I'd say they probably have the most unique concept and music of the newer groups tbh.

nah i totally see what you're saying. at least among known newer groups.

hybe is taking many risk with enhypen. which is indirectly making them standout. so far they're the type of group you either like or don't BUT those who like the group's color become loyal af. a method quite strategic of hybe now that i think about it.. o.o!!

Exactly, they don't have the generic cool/badass concept neither a plain cute/fresh concept. It's unique. A nice mix of campy horror, psychedelic/quirky with a bit of youthful/rebel. Idk how to explain but it's such a unique mix too and their music is not generic by any means.

listen i respect people's opinions but..... imagine not liking enhypen!!!!! jk i can understand how they might seem a bit off-putting for others. some just want fun concepts and whatnot, which is fine because i can relate. but man... even if i happen to not like their songs, i would watch over them like a hawk just because of their creative team (txt too)

honestly sometimes people are way too picky for their own good. this goes for all groups, but in the context of boy groups:

noise music = awful, generic (which i can understand at times)

funky, disco concept = outdated, unoriginal, following trends

cute, fresh concept = they're old, why are they acting like that? it's cringe

sexy concept = so *sexy concept group* can do this on broadcast, but not *other group*? try-hards

unique lore, story-telling = it's offputting, i just want to enjoy kpop for what it is, music. not the story.

Loved it! They definitely went with a different style this time around but still connected the concepts which I love. Great choreo which is something I always look forward to with groups so that definitely checked a box for me (check out their showcase performance the whole dance is sooo good!).

OMG you're soooo right. You forgot the "too vanilla and boring" for the cute/fresh concept like they did with TxT's Crown. Also the "they must be obligated" with the sexy concept like they recently did with ooo too. People aren't happy with anything especially when it comes to 4th gen boygroups because it suits their "they're all boring/generic/awful" narrative.

Like there's no way they can say Enhypen's concept and sound is generic in any way or that it's not "fun" (this MV is literally set in a PARTY so...) but I agree there's still gonna be people saying it's too try hard/complicated for the sake of complaining about something.

Love the song !! It's just ... wow !!

But Bighit is really getting on my nerves with whatever they're experimenting with vocals since a few years now, ffs I want to actually hear the voices of the artists, this is the main fear I have for BTS and TXT next comebacks, if they can give us B-sides with good production and without autotune abuse they should be able to do it on title tracks too.
