iKnife BurnCat 1,729
I mean these kpop covers in public on YT where there is 1 or 2 guys and the rest of the group are all girls. Personally I don't like it, these guys often exaggerate every single move, taking all attention from the rest of the group. It looks unbalanced. And when you check the comments, they're all like "omg that boy slays" blaabblbala. I'd prefer to watch either all boys or all girls dance covers. What about yall? 1

harumaki 4,354
As long as they don't mock how girls "act" I have no problem.
spopo 2,003
I have no problem with guys covering girl groups as long as they're respectful. When they put on some goofy, faux-effeminate act and mock the choreographies they can get fucked. That goes for male idol groups too. 1 1
Owlet 1,086
To be frank, I have the same opinion as yours. There are SO many guys that over exaggerate every move so much that it almost feels like a caricature to me and it very much does look out of place when they're surrounded by girls. But, on the other hand, I've seen a few people say that they get annoyed when male idols do dance covers of girl groups/female soloists' songs and they make the choreo look more "masculine". I personally prefer when they slightly alter it since it does look more "natural" that way, but in the end, I guess it isn't that deep.
Guest
Idk, i personally appreciate that men also try female covers (ofc not as a joke) and that they enjoy dancing to it. I personally liked this cover of fancy by Stray Kids, they kept most of the original choreo and I don't think they overdone in any of the ways ( too masculine or too exagerated feminine). But you guys decide, feel free to roast me.

Maybe his raspy rapper voice didnt suite the song. But at least they gave him a mic to hold while dancing XD
seokii 3,424
For me it's hard to tell if they're making a mockery of the feminine dance, or if they're exaggerating it as a stylistic choice (like akin to drag) I guess it's a matter of whether or not they mesh with the rest of the group But at the end of the day, if they're just doing it for fun, and if a guy wants to dance like that, it would be an unnecessary burden for him to restrain himself just because he looks like a man. There are plenty of dance covers of all girls where one of them is going particularly hard for no reason, but she just stands out less because she's more physically similar to everyone else. No1 6,265
If they do it properly instead of making a joke out of it, yes.
juniordud 3,004
I don't like when Guys do Girls dance and when Girls do Guys dances... They have tendancies to either exagerate and or overdance and butcher the steps. It looks messy and not at all like the original dance.
Hizu 6,869
I never even thought about this tbh, that's how much I don't care.
hynapia 3,977
As long it's not a mockery/parody I don't see the problem. I always see people complaining about guys (including bgs) doing gg dances, either because they do it "too feminine" or "too masculine because they don't want to act like girls" and it's like...what do people want then? Like I said, as long it's not a mockery or parody I don't see the deal.
is it just me 632
I just dont really see a reason for it, girls choreo is usually easier than guys so what the point if not to challenge ones self
lighterxx 12,204
Well I don't really care enough to have problems with it usually. They can change the song a bit if it's not killing the soul of the song or choreo for me, they can also make no changes, I just don't want a caricature looking dance in general. It's annoying. Edit: Oh I didn't realize we can put our faves °^° I will too then Spoiler Edited April 22, 2021 by lighterxx
Corysilk 16
I get what you're saying. Its like people only focus on them because "zomg toxic masculinity has left the chat!!!". Even when the guy isn't the best dancer he will still get all the attention. And they really do overdue the movements instead of moving as one with the group.
