It's crazy, i'm not sure whether small agencies spend that much but still each member of smaller agencies will still incur a few hundred thousands in debt by the time they debut, that they then have to pay off by working. Most of the idols will go throughout their carreers without making anything other then a small stipend and having their board and food paid for. Even the groups that get quite popular usually spend the earnings from the height of their popularity paying of their agency that by the time they should be earning money for themselves they are past their peak and earning a lot less if anything. Plus there are no real protections or standards on when how many years a trainee should debut, they could be perfectly ready to debut after 2 to 3 years but the agency is not in a position to debut a group or they think the market is not right at the moment.
