I doubt bands are gonna be the next big thing. More like pop rock songs are gonna come back with a touch of hip hop. Much like what FLOW, Shounen No Kaze, KATTUN songs, SIXTONES have and City Pop is a hit right now.

Two people I know have made it clear that Bands are the next big thing. Ronald and a Japanese guy who is a suit at one of the leading agencies in Japan. The suit actually made it clear that the only idol group that would survive, based  purely on numbers, was Nogizaka46. Out of pure curiosity, I asked him about AKB and Niziu and he told me the sun was slowly but surely going to set on AKB and as regards Niziu, his words ,paraphrased, not mine:  Niziu will have their fun for two or three years, then it is over

Shrugs

PS: People complained about the lack of budget and the use of CGI in the Girls2 PVs. But that's nowhere near @onefive's complete lack of budget for their BBB PV. It's almost as if LDH and Amuse are disinterested in splashing out for PVs for their new idol groups. At least LDH made their PV attractive to their target audience, Amuse did not even bother? Why?

Are we talking about Japanese music industry or over all global music industry? I was just thinking, base on the trends, the music trend that’s gonna come next is most likely what I just said. We won’t know if Bands will be popular again. Not a fan of both groups you mentioned including Nogi, so I’ve got no comments about them.

Lol you should watch LDH’s boy groups. They literally splurged on them, while keep their ggs on the low budget. Their priorities are set different. Ugh, No comment on Amuse since I haven’t been paying attention to them lately.
