Am I the only one who thinks this Twitter thing is... stupid?

Well, "stupid" may be a big word, perhaps "useless" is also applicable. I'm talking about these: (put into quote because one has white background)

Twitter users use these to apparently adjust the ratio of the photos on their tweets. Which I think is very unnecessary because Twitter doesn't actually crop the photos according to a certain ratio and just does that to preserve uniformity in tweets. It's not that big a deal though, I just dislike seeing tweets on my feed filled with these photos one after the other....

What I'm really dumbfounded about it though is that some doesn't even know what it's initially used for and just uses them because other people do. I saw one where they posted a single landscape photo which could have worked properly when uploaded as it is but they put three of the "just for picture size" pics and now the photo they want to show in the first place is just seen in 1/4 of the preview. Another one uploaded a landscape photo of a girl group but then added one of the "just for picture size" pics and now some poor girls are not seen in the preview when it could have been perfect if uploaded as it is.

Picture for size is mainly used for artists and fanartists because well to speak from personal experience twitter loves two things focusing on white face, and focusing on writing. Those two and their picture resize function fucks up so many drawings tbh

Edit: went to pic examples!! So both of these drawings do not use picture for size, do you see where twitter focuses? The face

what if what I want it to focus is not face? And I want to show more of my picture at a glance because most people glance and skip otherwise? I use picture for size. I hope I explained properly o.o

Thanks, I think I understand the purpose of that if used by artists. I don't follow any artist nor browse them specifically so I haven't seen fan-arts like that. Most I've seen are stan Twitter posts and personal accounts in general.
