Except 3rd gen started around 2011-2012, probably even earlier in 2010 since Infinite is often categorized as an early 3rd gen group rather than a 2nd gen group, so 3rd gen has been around for 10 years now. 

And I see groups like Itzy, Aespa, TXT, etc as 4th gen because those groups consist of those born in the late 90s (1999)-early 00s whereas most of 3rd gen were born in the 90s. 3rd gen had a mix of Millennial and early Gen Z idols (Gen Z starts at 1995-1996), but 4th gen is now entirely Gen Z idols.
