Lee Hyun will be remaining with his longtime agency Big Hit Entertainment!

On March 29, Big Hit Entertainment officially announced that the singer had renewed his exclusive contract with the agency, which he first signed with as an artist 14 years ago in 2007.

Big Hit Entertainment stated, “Based on the foundation of solid trust and faith that we have built during our long time together, we have renewed our contract with Lee Hyun. We plan to actively support Lee Hyun in the future as well, so that he can display the full extent of his abilities as a vocalist. We ask that you show a lot of interest in the wide array of activities that Lee Hyun will take on in the future.”

Lee Hyun commented, “I have been with Big Hit since 2005, back when I was a trainee. Starting from then up until now, the company and I have gone through the process of growing up into adults together. Even with the closest of friends, it isn’t easy to maintain a relationship for this long. Maybe that’s why, but this particular contract renewal feels especially meaningful. I hope that Big Hit will become an even greater company in the future, and I too will become a singer that can provide strength on that journey.”

Lee Hyun first debuted under Big Hit Entertainment in 2007 as a member of the group 8Eight. In 2010, he formed the duo Homme with 2AM’s Changmin, and he has also enjoyed success in the years since as a solo artist. CR.

Last one I remember is at 2016? So no. Not really. Maybe one of the clauses is having one CB per year.

He's sort of the Kangta of SM. He's definitely profiting off Bighit overall success and living comfortably. Plus he has a bunch of creative freedom and it's very likely he's does some things behind the scenes for the company too.

But yea he's lowkey active. He does not make comebacks constantly like young idols tho. He use to be in a duo group with former 2am member Changmin called Homme. The two use to release music and do some activities. The group disbanded in 2018. Since then Lee Hyun has released a few OSTs. He released an album in 2018. He's been on a few shows in 2019. He was part of the Bighit company photoshoot and Weverse concert. Covid hit in 2020. Since he renewed most likely he will release an album this year.

In other words, he may have made an agreement to provide things such as vocal coaching in the background and to release albums from time to time.

yep basically.

it's possible he share some ideas for concepts and other stuff sometimes too. sort of what kangta and boa does at sm.  plus maybe he's a shareholder.
