There are several links and tweets in this very thread showing why the drama is controversial, you can at least take the time to read through them.

There is something I truly do not understand...if these issues are well aware by the public how it could have been overlooked during  production..?

Dramas of such genre usually have a historian or specialist consultant who would make sure such "obvious " contradictions won't happen...now the drama is going to premiere after wasting everyone's time and spending so much money working on it..it became a hot issue?!..just because one drama got canceled, they feel they are empowered to cancel another one? I truly understand there are probably slight contradictions but this is how the entertainment media have always been.. what if it's just inspired by the history? it doesn't have to be 100% accurate...I mean looking the over-exaggeration in kdrama in general..as an international audience in this situation it is hard for me to understand... but to each their own.
