There are some celebrities whose careers depends only on the Chinese market, so I understand it's a hard decison for them: CCP propaganda vs their dreams. 

I've defended Jackson a lot every time he had posted about the One China policy, I defended him when he supported CCP during HK protests, but I'll not defend him again cause he has an optin. He has a good career in Korea, in GOT7, many international fans who support him, he doesn't need to sell his soul to be an artist in China. I still like him, but I'll not agree with his actions

I don’t support him, I don’t agree with any celebrity that’s willing to turn a blind eye to this. 
 

What I meant to say was that I understand why they did it — even if I don’t support it. People are asking themselves why they would do this, and the answer is pretty simple: 

1.) They’re public figures in China, and the government of China is far more inclined to let you be a public figure if you tow the line. 
 

2.) Despite the cynicism, it will put their families under deep scrutiny. 
 

So no, I don’t support them — I don’t agree with them, and I don’t even like them at this point. But I empathize with them in the sense that I understand why they did what they did. 

I can’t look at them the same way, but I understand their motives.

U have the right to continue supporting him all u want but please stop this oppa sacrificing himself to protect his family ideology to protect the image of an accomplice. It would be even better if u could share a fraction of ur sympathy from Jackson to the real victims of ccp.

The situation is different from the past. China used to be very close, so we barely had access to Chinese movies/series and artists. However it has changed in the last few years, now more people know Chinese artists, especially the ones who came from KPOP, so the CCP decided to use these artists to change people's mind about them by making them promote their propaganda. Don't you feel more biased in supporting what your favorite artist support than what any politic or media say? I've changed my mind a lot in a positive way about China since I started liking Chinese artists. CCP knows what they do.

In the past, I thought the artists were obligated to follow CCP, but nowadays I think the artists just do this to protect their careers in China, so they have an option, it may be hard to choose between your dreams or supporting CCP's propaganda.

Well, they may think that stand up against CCP will not change these minorities situation, but it'll have a huge impact on their careers, so they choose to support CCP.
