1. All of their numbers were higher than Lady Gaga... they suffered at the hands of racism. They topped the 'Hot 100' three times and are still on the charts while Lady Gaga only topped it once and is off the charts right now. Downloads, iTunes, YouTube... they are #1 in every category without a doubt. I feel like we were assaulted just for being Asian.

2. Honestly, they did not win because they are Korean. Even the Americans admit that. It's unfortunate but even if the Grammys won't acknowledge them, BTS are still recognized by the rest of the world as the best.

Sigh! I didn't even care about this award show before BTS expressed their want. 

BTS are so wholesome I swear. It hurts my heart to see them not win. Glad to see them motivated and providing interesting distractions for us

The grammys has always been unpredictable, you could have the best sales and recognition and still not be nominated. Unfortunately, this is just a situation where committee members picks their preferred artist/song - so its subjective as hell. 

 

Also, at the end of the day this is still an American award show where Black Americian artists struggle to be represented properly and are often cheated from (obviously) deserved awards. Latin artists are seperated from the English Grammy awards to their own Latin Grammy awards show. 

 

So yeah, I wasnt expecting much tbh.

Same, I've lived in the U.S for YEARS and never once gave a damn about the Grammy's until BTS got nominated. 

Anyway, BTS is BTS regardless  love them just as much and am so proud regardless of any award ever.

Rain On Me had 0 impact. I didn't even like Dynamite but that song literally meant something historically. Rain On Me was something I'd hear while sobbing under fluorescent lights in an H&M bathroom and they barely performed it too. Of ALL the songs to lose to, they chose fucking Rain On Me. are you kidding me? i've been active on twitter, tiktok, all of that in general and literally all i heard about Rain On Me was that it was bad. of course people KNEW about it because it was an ariana and lady gaga collab, but no one praised it nor was it interesting enough to be talked about. at least with Dynamite, there was the fact that it was an all English song made by a Korean group; there were conversations about Dynamite, or at least more conversations than there were about Rain On Me.
