What do TxT, EnHypen and future BigHit boy groups need to do to become as successful globally as BTS?

I think about this every once in a while, but the article with an Avex executive brought it to my attention again. BigHit can't put all their eggs in one basket and it's not good for juniors to always be in the shadows of their seniors. What can they do to, not pass but, be as successful as BH's 1st fully owned boy idol group?

honestly, idk.  since we’re in the midst of bts’ global success at the moment it’s hard for me to even imagine another group reaching that level.  doesn’t mean it might not eventually happen, but it seems a number of years down the line...especially when thinking of the time between groups like big bang/snsd’s biggest hits and bts’ current status.

anyway, that was a tangent.  i think BH Labels is doing a good job of building fanbases for both currently debuted groups.  TXT is doing extremely well in japan (they have a bunch of #1 singles on line music, which has more than double the amount of active users as melon) and enhypen already has the best selling korean debut album of all time on oricon iirc.  their domestic fanbases aren’t small and their international fanbases (especially in the case of enhypen) are even larger.

what kpop discourse tends to forget is that txt only just turned two years old, while enhypen debuted not even four months ago.  what can they do to reach that level of success?  i think it will involve time.  they’re already promoting the groups regularly, they’ve given them their own lore and sound/concepts separate from their seniors...all they can do is grow the fanbase, keep releasing music (maybe one will smash with the GP, it’s hard to predict those things sometimes), and get back out on the road once COVID restrictions ease up.

I don't think they have to do particulary anything beyond the ordinary. Just keep releasing good music, interesting concepts and engaging in fan activities through social media. Nowadays it's more a matter of luck to hit big, because a lot of groups release great music and concepts and still don't hit big for some reason. They just have to keep trying and putting out interesting and quality content (+ good promotions) and they might be lucky to hit big one day.

But still, a phenomenon like BTS (or Blackpink) it's gonna be super difficult to replicate because those groups are literally massive.

If Bighit wanted another BTS, they would’ve made another BTS

Their goal is to make an empire of groups, not one specifically huge one

The fact that y’all STILL don’t understand that is.... like pretty sure BigHit aren’t gonna debut more than 1 boy group (even if they’re separated in sub-labels) with drastically different concepts if their goal were that specifically have the next BTS

And also BTS have shown no signs of going down. So army aside, I’m sure they’re gonna continue to last

They don't need to be like BTS to be successful and profitable. I'm sure Bighit knows this too.

Enhypen and TXT already have a decent size fanbase that's continues to grow. Base on their sns and album sales. Due to the pandemic people are not able to visibly see how well some of these younger groups are actually doing. TXT would have had a world tour in 2020, and probably planning a even bigger one for 2021/2022. Plus they were starting to make waves in Japan too. And Enhypen trajectory seem to be rising even faster than TXT tbh.

I just think at this point BH just need to promote TXT and Enhypen to get more public recognition in order to chart on k-charts namely Enhypen who is not doing so well on domestic charts. But then again they just debuted so let's see how their recognition evolve with time.

Do you think a 4tg gen group can at least make it to Twice level?

^for boy groups, i think the question is more like will another group be able to reach exo, tvxq and/or big bang level.

in my opinion enhypen and txt are right on track to reaching exo level at least fandom and tourwise.

public recognition recognition in korea or japan like bb and tvxq is a bit more difficult. tho not impossible.

Sales wise, Twice level could be possible because Iz*one for example sells on par with them or even slightly more lately, but BTS/Blackpink level that literally sell +1M and can spend several weeks on melon top 5-10 plus they have massive fandoms, that's way more difficult.
