Amidst the April scandal, I feel really bad for Chaekyung...

As a KARA and Rainbow fan, I've been pretty keen with the new girls from DSP. Chaekyung initially debuted in Puretty, a girl group that debuted on 2012 in Japan and was supposed to debut in Korea but plans fell through so Chaekyung returned to being a trainee.

In 2014, after Nicole and Jiyoung left KARA, DSP held KARA Project to determine who will be the group's newest member. Chaekyung also joined the search but Youngji was the one to get in.

Then in 2015, DSP sent Chaekyung to join Produce 101. She made it to the finals but wasn't able to debut with IOI.

Then after Produce 101, Chaekyung debuted with other Produce trainees in project group I.B.I. which by the way never had a comeback.

Then Chaekyung starred in God of Music 2 where she "debuted" in another group called CIVA. That was the last season of the show.

In 2017, she was added to April and has since been promoting as an April member.

And right when I was already assured that Chaekyung will no longer suffer as she finally has a place that is not immediate and temporary, in a real girl group and not a disbanded/project group; when I finally was able to be happy for her gaining the love and success that are many years overdue, the April bullying scandal came.

Chaekyung and Rachel were specified to have not been part of the bullying as they weren't members yet when it happened but when the news came, aside from Hyunjoo, I was worried about Chaekyung the most. She really worked hard and has dedicated her youth to music and being an idol. She debuted when she was 16 and she trained even before she became 16, she encountered countless failures and when she finally was able to rise up and be in a group whose music became known to people, this happens.

I'm not saying that the news shouldn't have broken out in the first place, I just simply feel sad and bad for Chaekyung because nothing ever went her way as an idol. I know luck is part of the industry but it's already been too much for the poor girl. She's still young but is at the age where she can no longer debut in a girl group. She wasn't part of the bullying but as an April member, she will forever be associated to the scandal. She'll be celebrating her 10th year anniversary as an idol next year but she still doesn't have that one group she's known for and can be proud of. She's drop dead gorgeous, she's talented, she has a very beautiful personality... Why do these things keep on happening to her?

It's all just... Sad... I really pray that now Chaekyung is venturing into acting, she gets REALLLYYY recognized and make it big. I hope that her acting career will blossom so much that her being a member of April will be left in history. I'm just really waiting for her to find the success she was supposed to achieve all these years. Before I became a fan of April, I was first a fan of you and I will support you in everything you do.. Chaekyung!
