....I have COVID?

I did have a small cold on Tuesday, which develop into a small fever on Wednesday. And yesterday I was fine. It felt like any other flu. And now, I can't smell nor taste. Wtf!!!??? I can only smell & taste just a little bit.

I googled it & they said its COVID & that it's permanent ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

It's not permanent, it will go away at some point.

Could very well be COVID. No one here can diagnose you, though. It could be something unrelated. You'll need to get tested to make sure.ย

While the loss of taste and smell does linger for some, it's usually not permanent.ย

THANKS! โค I hope it gets better too. I can't imagine going on like this forever

Hell if I'm going to the hospital. They are full, they literally let a 17 year old die last week becauseย refuse on taking anymore patients. I'll do better in quarantine.

Definitely quarantine yourself if you're exhibiting COVID symptoms. Depending on your age and condition, rest might be the only treatment you need. Just make sure that you're staying distant from others so that you don't potentially spread it. If your symptoms become worrying, then see a doctor. Judging based on experience with those who have had COVID, mild cases are generally treated with Zinc, steroids, and rest.

I will. I already took some flu medications, I hopefully that will help.

Yeah I wouldn't go to the hospital either, but definitely self quarantine, and if you work you should just tell them you have covid even if you can't get tested right away its better to be safe then sorry

Similar to when I had Covid. Two days, I felt sick. Then for two days, I was completely fine and did not feel sick at all. And then, on the 5th day, I felt the worst and on the 6th day, I lost my senses. Smell and taste, but also mentally because I was just going crazy. Didn't smell and taste anything for a whole week, then it slowly got better. But I already knew in the beginning that I had Covid because my father was diagnosed positive and the whole family had to get tested.ย

My first day I felt sick was New Year's Eve, not the best way to start 2021. I'm not sick anymore, but for me it's hard to get back on track. Anyway, it's not permanent so don't worry about that! โค๏ธย

Tbh if your sense or smell is gone than yeah, you probably have it. Quarantine yourself, it's not permanent, some people have this symptom months after testing negative but most don't, mine came back in three days for example. Drink a lot of water and force yourself to eat because your body will demand a lot from you and you won't have any appetite...

As for meds it's better to ask to a doctor to direct you for the best treatment.

Vitamins don't really help.

I don't think it's entirely smart to just isolate yourself?

If you've been outside of the house or live with other people you should get tested

I'm live with myย housemates but I haven't seen them in weeks.

I'm sorry, I didn't want to make you feel even more insecure. Please don't go crazy, I'm sure everything will be fine. I have heard that if you lose sense of smell and taste, the virus load is relatively low. We only hear about the dramatic Covid cases, but fact is that most of the people who haveย it completely recover and go through it like it's a cold/flu. โค๏ธย

Yeah, my friend who had COVID felt like she was dragging for months after she "recovered"--come to find out, she had a massive vitamin D deficiency, presumably because of COVID.ย

Most people are already deficient with vitamin D since Covid appeared, virus somehow makes it a lot worse tho, vitamins are ofc not medicine but it's something for your body to continue working properly. @loveablejoy they sell them in pill forms too if you want (I tend to have liquid ones) take one per day, of those pills (or per what box says). Do stop if you have headache tho, it might be sign of too much Vitamin D which is harmful

Okay, I'll see if it goes away in 2 weeks. And go get some then.ย I'm all by myself now, so I don't have anyone get them for me.

Can you order from market o.o? You can ask them to hang on your doorย

If not there is nothing you can do, you can just get vitamins later, just don't forget about them lol

Otherwise don't drink cold stuff, even remotely cold drinks can be harmful to your lungs, its weird I know but drink everything warm or at least lukewarmย

Make sure to measure your temperature frequently too, incase it goes to dangerous areas, you would probably feel your hotness anyway.ย
