Compared to the past, girl groups are viewed differently now. [Breaking the 7th year curse]

Not sure. I think there will be more girl groups who last more than seven years now but most of them will still not reach their eight year. If OMG hadn't had an increase in popularity they might have disbanded this year.

TWICE, BP, Mamamoo and RV will probably all make it past 7 years.  

 

But if you compare with the first generation of kpop then the difference is obvious.

True, but I don't think it's going to be a revolution. A few groups will last for a long time and the average group will last longer thanks to increased album sales and international fame. Look at Dreamcatcher, they're probably going to last for several more years despite barely charting on streaming services in Korea.
