jeong jaehyuns boyfriend 10,627
with this recent surge of bullying and school violence exposés... ive been thinking back on previous incidents, like the one with jessica leaving snsd. im NOT accusing any members of bullying, and i dont wish to start any rumours. im a sone and have been since 2007, and i love snsd with all my heart. however, we NEVER got closure on what really happened between jessica and the other girls. after her departure in september 2014, it's been complete radio silence from the other 8 members, and SM only released a few vague statements citing disagreements without any details. they probably also have jessica on a cease and desist, where she's legally not allowed to say anything without being sued. so up until now, all we have is fan speculation. that is, of course, unless someone else spills the tea... like krystal, for example. if anyone knows what really happened (on jessica's side, at least), it's her sister (her real one). jessica says that she was "forcibly kicked out" and SM admits that the members didnt see eye to eye, but didnt say what they disagreed about specifically. fans of snsd will also know that jessica's relationship changed with many of the members, most obviously with taeyeon, around ~2010-2011. after TTS debuted in 2012, their relationship seemed dead. there are a few moments where they seem to be cordial with each other after that, but theyre exceedingly rare. as a sone since the beginning, ive also noticed that jessica's relationship also changed with yuri around the same time. hyoyeon and sooyoung are wild cards to me - they were probably the closest with jessica, but didnt seem to be as close with her after IGAB. it seems like 2014 was when jessica's relationship with everyone was at a breaking point. im NOT saying that bullying was involved, but do you think theres a chance there was some exclusionary behaviour happening? jessica said herself on weibo that she was being forcibly removed without anyone consulting her. that suggests that the other girls talked amongst themselves and brought it up to the company without jessica's consent. what's the truth? 3 4

HRH Ayyu 4,199
no, there was tension regarding her fashion line, but that seems like a business disagreement. WhateverBitch 1,844
A long time Sone here, every time I see someone talking about the whole Jessica gate I always leave but today I'm going to share once again what ALLEGEDLY happened. First of all, a lot of us knew a member was leaving since middle/end of 2013 through a very popular insider at the time (he was very reliable, he had spoiled multiple stuff and he was very well known among Sone), but we had no idea which member was untill the first months of 2014 (here I'm going by memory I don't remember the exact date and I might be mistaken) when finally the insider dropped the name (of course it was Jessica). According to the insider she was ready to move on from SNSD and start her venture solo with the girls blessing and "Divine" being her farewell song. Soon after the revelation of the member leaving the insider announced that Jessica was, apparently, back in negotiations with SM and she might have stayed afterall. After that we got confirmations and denials throughout 2014, it was unclear whether she wanted to stay or not, even the insider was dumbfounded, untill the day of Jessica announcement. From now on I'll tell you my interpretation of what I think happened because the insider was being criptic with his comments on Jessica. From what I understood at a certain point SM got fed up with Jessica's indecisiveness so they gave her an ultimatum and the girls, who at that point were very tired of the situation, didn't back her up as she was expecting (contrary to what a lot of naive fans think, the girls don't hold the power to decide who stays and who leaves, especially in one of the most successful group in kpop, whose brand, at the time, revolved around being 9 bffs), and that prompted Jessica to release her statement (to have the upper hand with the public and not risk a smearing campaign from SM). You can believe it or not I don't care, this is what I believe is the most plausible reason and what I personally like to believe, the situation isn't as black or white as much as some people would like it to be, no side was completely right or wrong. I still support all 9 of them and they seem very happy with their whereabouts and that's the most important thing. rosiecon 246
This is the biggest mystery tbh. Sucks that the other members act like she was never part of the group, even the ones that aren't part of SM anymore. I always thought Tiffany was pretty close with Jessica so idk what went wrong there. SM never denied what Jessica said about the situation and Krystal was hella uncomfortable with the remaining members after her sister was kicked out. Maybe one day we'll find out 2
felidae 2,742
There may be bullying but I'm not sure if she's out because of it. Someone made a thread about everything known in public (I think I saw op here?) not long ago. I don't think we'll never get closure lol. We have to wait until years, yeaaaaars later. Lizzo 4,159
I am pretty sure SNSD has a strictly business relationship (as do probably 90% of kpop groups, let's be real) there were clearly tensions between certain members but I don't think it's "bullying" per say. I even remember rumors of how TTS was supposed to be TTJ the SONE above summed what I am pretty sure happened with the business disagreement and why she was kicked Edited March 4, 2021 by Lizzo
puellarum generatio 3,628
I hate all these speculations based on gifs. Sones (especially taengsic shippers) tried too hard to rationalize the perceived lack of interaction between Taeyeon and Jessica. Taengsic had never been, and was never going to be, what they hoped for in their fantasies.

panqueque 286
I always thought it has to do more with the income rather what member hates the other one. I used to believe that it was more about how Jessica was offered a different contract with her brand, and it was more unfair to some members that may have a different cut in their activities. Also Jessica would be still somehow active and had some guarantees while some other members don't. Remember that after 2014 more members embraced more individual activities than grupal ones, and not all of them renewed in 2017. I also think SM had to decided if keeping Jessica was worth the risk and make the other 8 members want to resign or sue. I still think SM didn't want to kick out Jessica initially since she was a popular member and had a lot of CF during 2012/2013.

I don't think there's ever been any bullying. More like jessica herself was over with idol life and wanted to try new things. It's just the situation got messy when she was supposed to have a proper goodbye stage rather than suddenly being "kicked out" Edited March 4, 2021 by himi

Divine wasnt her last song, neither it was song of Tokyo Dome. Tokyo dome was teased by Catch GG. Its song was Catch me if you can. This makes the planned departure after Tokyo Dome total bs tbh. Also if they planned her to leave, they wouldnt sign contract with her... But I agree about the members not backing her up instead of deciding to kick her out. But its undeniable that Taeyeon had beef with Jessica for whatever reason. But who cares is one whole idol generation old news. In the end not that long ago Jessica & Krystal met Yoona. So my kokoro is happy. Edited March 4, 2021 by Danee Danee 1
