WhateverBitch 1,844
A long time Sone here, every time I see someone talking about the whole Jessica gate I always leave but today I'm going to share once again what ALLEGEDLY happened. First of all, a lot of us knew a member was leaving since middle/end of 2013 through a very popular insider at the time (he was very reliable, he had spoiled multiple stuff and he was very well known among Sone), but we had no idea which member was untill the first months of 2014 (here I'm going by memory I don't remember the exact date and I might be mistaken) when finally the insider dropped the name (of course it was Jessica). According to the insider she was ready to move on from SNSD and start her venture solo with the girls blessing and "Divine" being her farewell song. Soon after the revelation of the member leaving the insider announced that Jessica was, apparently, back in negotiations with SM and she might have stayed afterall. After that we got confirmations and denials throughout 2014, it was unclear whether she wanted to stay or not, even the insider was dumbfounded, untill the day of Jessica announcement. From now on I'll tell you my interpretation of what I think happened because the insider was being criptic with his comments on Jessica. From what I understood at a certain point SM got fed up with Jessica's indecisiveness so they gave her an ultimatum and the girls, who at that point were very tired of the situation, didn't back her up as she was expecting (contrary to what a lot of naive fans think, the girls don't hold the power to decide who stays and who leaves, especially in one of the most successful group in kpop, whose brand, at the time, revolved around being 9 bffs), and that prompted Jessica to release her statement (to have the upper hand with the public and not risk a smearing campaign from SM). You can believe it or not I don't care, this is what I believe is the most plausible reason and what I personally like to believe, the situation isn't as black or white as much as some people would like it to be, no side was completely right or wrong. I still support all 9 of them and they seem very happy with their whereabouts and that's the most important thing. You cannot leave your main group with Divine on good terms while staying in the company and promoting with different group / duo. SM doesnt do this. You are either in or out. 2 hours ago, Danee Danee said: You talking about Oniontaker? Divine wasnt her last song, neither it was song of Tokyo Dome. Tokyo dome was teased by Catch GG. Its song was Catch me if you can. This makes the planned departure after Tokyo Dome total bs tbh. Also if they planned her to leave, they wouldnt sign contract with her... But I agree about the members not backing her up instead of deciding to kick her out. But its undeniable that Taeyeon had beef with Jessica for whatever reason. But who cares is one whole idol generation old news. In the end not that long ago Jessica & Krystal met Yoona. So my kokoro is happy. This is not 2014 and I have no intention to start a whole ass discussion on an old matter, so I will answer you out of politeness and that's it. Jessica was initially supposed to go on hiatus after Girls’ Generation finished their dome tour on the 24th not leave the group altogether (and that fits SM modus operandi like a glove, afterall SM groups never officially disband, they go on indefinite hiatus). As a whole, the group had mentally prepared for her leave, recorded “Catch Me If You Can” as their Tokyo Dome tour single, and decided on “Divine” to be Jessica’s farewell song to Sones before going on hiatus. But after a while it seems that Jessica had second thoughts, however, and wanted to stay in the group as a semi-active member, which prompted the whole back and forth in 2014. The Jungsis sub unit could have still happened if she was simply on hiatus from SNSD, look at Sulli, she left f(X) but she kept on being signed with SM and work under them, or Key, during Shinee's hiatus he promoted under Toheart with Infinite Woohyun. Leaving a group is not the same as leaving an agency.

She worked as actress outside of one solo released long time after her departue from the group. Key never left Shinee though. We are talking about full departure/never going to promote sgain hiatus of member. With so called farewell song. It makes no sense to let her promote as an idol singer with Krystal right after saying she want to move on being idol singer with SNSD. Its total bs. Jessica and Krystal subunit was never confirmed in the first place. Second, if it was true we can only speculate when it would have been released, it could have been in middle 2015 to lessen the blow. Third, there is no rule that says that if you leave your group you can't have a subunit, considering she would still be signed with SM she was technically allowed to have activities with Krystal who was also signed with them. And once again, SM hiatuses are very infamous, see Winwin and NCT 127, he is technically on hiatus from them, but it's clear he is not a part of that team anymore and he is promoting with WayV, or Lay, still in EXO but on an indefinite hiatus, still promoting fine.
