Do chinese idols debut in Korea just to get recognition?

I think that there are some Chinese K-pop idols who just really want to be K-pop stars like DC's Han Dong, G-Idle's Yuqi, even CLC's Elkie (who I don't think would have left if she thought Cube would give CLC a future) or even Pristin's Kyulkyung (her parent told her K-pop was a scam and she signed with Pledis anyway) and then there are others are using it for a springboard for the Chinese market. A big part to play is how the company treats them. SM is notoriously bad to its Chinese idols so no wonder they leave. Meanwhile Han Dong seems happy being back with her group in Korea after spending months in China and participating in a show there and gaining a fanbase - I can only think thats because HappyFace treats her right.

Because of K-pop's global appeal (which Mandopop does not seem to have yet)  a Chinese idol in a hit group can become a global star outside China and return as a player, while if they stayed in China they have to start from the ground up. It makes sense to be a Kpop star first. There are also others like WJSN's C-line who I'm sure would still like to be part of their groups but they're just too many opportunities in China and big bucks for them to pass up (this is especially true for Xuan Yi and Mei Qi who had no individual schedules in Korea but are getting gigs all over the place since Rocket Girls).
