Myself as an fan from back in the days, absolutely no. We were just happy to have content lol..^^

However now Kpop has become so global and normalize fans have higher expectations.  So for new gen Kpop stans, yes.

For BTS -

Pre-2017: It wasn't common. On some paid content (concert dvds, vacation packages, memories) Bighit would a provide subs. Naver had its own department for subbing vlives. Other then that we relied on subbing teams with in the fanbase to add subs, if they could.

Post-2018: The fandom became super adamant about subs. Literally. Mass emailing the company and hashtags. Now Bighit try to add subs to all their content, even free. They've even started to gradually sub old youtube content.

fromis - (2018 debut) basically adds subs to everything on youtube. their vlives didn't have them due to navar prioritizing other groups, but we have a really good subbing team that does a good job.

woo!ah! - (2020 debut) for a new company they do well also. again nowadays companies are aware adding eng subs is necessary to growing and keeping the international side. however not all of them have the resources. we don't have a dedicated subbing team with in the fandom, so there is  a lot content without subs too.
