On February 26, JYP Entertainment released an updated statement in response to Stray Kids member Hyunjin's recent school bullying accusations.

The agency stated:

"First, we would like to apologize to many of those who felt discomfort due to the negative news involving Stray Kids's Hyunjin. We also ask for your understanding in our belated statement, as it took time to investigate the matter as accurately as possible through various sources.

After the issue first arose, JYP Entertainment contacted various former classmates, teachers, and other affiliates of the school; after receiving permission, we also personally met up with the initial accuser.

Once we collected the testimonies of various individuals affiliated with this incident, there was a level of difficulty in confirming the complete truth behind the initial accusation post, due to the fact that individuals gave differing accounts based on their memories.

Nonetheless, it is true that there are individuals who were hurt by Hyunjin's past immature and inappropriate actions, and Hyunjin is also currently deeply regretting his past behavior, and so he personally met up with his former classmates to offer his sincerest apologies.

We would like to once again thank Hyunjin's former classmates for accepting his sincere apologies, for their willingness to resolve the issue peacefully, and  for cheering on Hyunjin's future promotions.

We would also like to take this opportunity to apologize to any former classmates whom we were unable to contact, as well as any who felt they were hurt by Hyunjin's words in the past.

Hyunjin has resolved to always reflect on his past behaviors and cultivate better character, and JYP Entertainment also plans on doing our best to guide our artists in their moral paths.

Finally, we ask that you refrain from the spread of any more false rumors or speculative posts online, and we promise to place greater attention to aspects of our artist/trainee selection process which we carried out poorly in the past. Thank you."

So pretty much comes down to is that no one really has the same memories or perceptions of what happened back then. But Hyunjin apologized and resolved whatever issues he had with this person.

Hopefully he grows from this and anyone hurt from his actions, intentional or not can hopefully find some peace.

If he did, they better made the victims sign some non disclosure agreement lol.

I guess it's all done for him and past bad behaviors. Let's hope he has changed to a better person, and fans to act accordingly and respectfully (?) continue to support him.

I spoke too soon 💀

This is between the victims and Hyunjin.

He acknowledged what he did and is reflecting on his actions that he did in middle school. At least stays can finally breathe now but it's like the world doesn't want Stray Kids to hit big or something :rlytearpls:

You have no idea how proud I'm of him. It's really nice he took his time out to go personal apologized to her. I know that he had issues,,  but I believe he has change so much. And I know this must have been hard for victim facing him after so much years. But it's hopefully resolved now, and the victim can be at ease.

All the best for future promo my sweetie~ ❤

Damn girl, you must be so relieved. I don't know what I'd do if Baekhyun had a scandal like this, I wouldn't be able to breathe. This was the best move he could possibly make, acknowledging past mistakes and apologising sincerily is always the way to go, it shows that Hyunjin's heart and mind are in the right place and his fans can keep supporting him with confidence.

If he'd pulled a Soojin I don't know what would have happened. Stray Kids without Hyunjin is somehting I don't even want to imagine.

So from what I understood it was a typical petty fight between middle schoolers that was blown out of proportion and turned into a bullying accusation that no one could prove because of vague memories.

But I'm glad that Hyunjin still apologised because some of his actions in the past were indeed problematic and hurt people.

idk how well knetz are going to receive this tbh

this is going to follow him forever

You're right it will follow him. In this case, sine the accusations were all over the place, JYPE probably should have stated exactly to whom and what Hyunjin apologizing for, so knetz will not try to lump everything out there to him.

It's not a "oppa didn't mean it". I know he meant it, but I believe he has changed within the last 8 years. I knowledge what he did was wrong & messed up. And deserves to be punished for it.

He apologizes, it's now up to the victims to accept or deny.

It's really disheartening to see the news about him, and it hurts because I love him so much, sorry not sorry! 😭 It's really hurts to know that someone that I love so much would have done something like this. For the pass few days, I wouldn't come to acknowledge it. It's like my whole mood was completely changed, as if something heavy was over me. Seeing this apology makes me feel a bit better. It's not okay, he will never be okay but I want him to be~

I just hope he's really changed & that things will be better~

I don't know what to think when I read these things. In one hand you can think that it was long time ago and probably his bad behaviour is a thing of the past. But at the same time you can't avoid thinking that in the end we don't know anything about how a kpop idol is in real life.

Maybe he could be pretending and just apologized when he reached a dead end or he is a changed man.

Anyway this is not the first time this group is in hot waters, i wonder if this will affect them in the long run.

Wait hold up, so they're not going to reveal which parts of the accusations are true and which are false? His classmates gave differing accounts but what about Hyunjin himself? I need to know which actions he did that he apologized for and which are the things that were falsified or exaggerated, i thought that was the point of the investigation...

Edit : after thinking about it again, if Hyunjin and his classmates feel uncomfortable to disclose those informations then i respect their decision. I'm glad that it's resolved. JYP threw him under the bus with that last line tho, while keeping him in the group cause they need him... Why did i even expect more from this company
