Idol group TOO's member Cha Woonggi has been belatedly known to have pointed out cases of people violating the "no gatherings of more than 5 people" guideline in his university group chat.

On the 15th, a post on an online community titled "The current controversy in a Seongnam university freshman group chat". The post contained Cha Woonggi's texts from last month in his university group chat.

The pictures show Cha Woonggi saying "Hello! This is acting major Cha Woonggi :) This is a group chat for all students entering university in 2021, but I think there's been a lot of excessive words that cross the line. Having a drinking party with 20 people close together at Konkuk University Station is, no matter how you look at it, not something to be proud of in my opinion!"

In the group chat, about 20 university students are assumed to have violated the COVID-19 quarantine rule to "not gather more than 5 people" by having or planning a drinking party at a bar near Konkuk University Station.

The group chat reacted to Cha Woonggi by saying "Just move on", "So what do you want to say?", "Are you telling me to just be stuck at home?" "Woonggi, do you want to come too? Will you gather with us and play?", etc.

In response, Cha Woonggi said, "I've already said what I wanted to say! I don't want to uselessly tell you not to gather more than 5 people together, but it's a bit weird when you're inviting me to come drink together, isn't it~"

One participant in the group chat shared the information with TOO fans, saying "Cha Woonggi's actions are so offensive." However, netizens began supporting Cha Woonggi instead once they learned of the story.

Cha Woonggi debuted in the entertainment industry in 2007 with SBS Drama "The King and I". Last year, he debuted in the boy group TOO from Mnet's "To Be World Klass" show. He will enter a junior college in Seongnam as an acting major in 2021.

Yes!!! Woonggi has so many past stories about him educating people, like him educating his misogynistic classmates, attending green party meetings, supporting lgbtq+, etc.

I just find it funny how the group chat probably thought it would expose him as a person for some reason, yet it backfired, lmao.

He's only 18/19 but seems so mature and thoughtful compared to his peers or even older people. For example in my uni there's people well into their 20s who go to illegal parties with over 10-20 people gathered in a house too, so it's admirable how he's barely an adult and already so responsible.
