The thing is that you don’t work as a stylist in korea (I assume) that’s why you don’t really care about idols’ outfits. But big3 stylists are obviously aware of each other’s work and check out the outfits of the rival groups.

And Jisoo’s hanbok was a BIG THING in Korea, they were many articles about it. The designer even won an award. Now you’re gonna tell me twice’s (bp’s rival) stylist never heard about it? Come on...  even I who is not even a bp stan know about jisoo’s original hanbok. It’s like saying a korean producer who plagiarized, let’s say red velvet’s psycho, could have not known because some international stans don’t care about rv’s musical production. Everyone working in the same field check out their colleagues’ works, especially when these colleagues work for a rival company. It’s no rocket science.

Hmmmm, fair point. I assumed that the stylist winning awards wasn't related to Jisoo's Hanbok specifically. My bad, your arguments make sense.

I don't understand this. There are 2 possibilities.

1-JYP bought this hanbok from Kim Balko's collection. I don't see any problem with this?

Or

2-JYP's stylist/designer copied Kim Balko's design. Then they should be fired tbh.

So which one is the truth?

Btw, she is not BP's stlylist, she is a hanbok designer that made the 4 hanbok outfits for BP and that's it. I guess her reaction was normal because at the end that scene got a lot of buzz-praise, and she even got an award for that, so probably her pride came out, and that's it, Twice's stylist apologized so move on.

They bought it from a discount store apparently. Not from Kim Balko's collection. That's why she was shocked. She didn't know until she saw.

So basically they were cheap and bought it from a whole seller.

Tea. It was major in Korea (tbh even abroad), the modernized Handbook styles in BP M/V went viral. Anyone in the Korean fashion industry would've known about it. Twice's stylists knew lol I guess they just didn't want to spend the $$

Like I get, this isn't even an official Twice M/V, so why spend hella money? But in that case they should've just chosen another, plainer hanbok like the one Chaeyoung wore. Mess on stylists part.

BLACKPINK's "How You Like That" MV is widely believed to have marked a revolutionary beginning in the usage of modernized hanbok in the world of K-Pop.

Really? Because this is the only other time I've seen one, and the designer is throwing a fit over it. You can't start a "revolution" if you refuse to allow anyone to take after you. This statement is pure bunk.

Allowing someone to be inspired by your work is not the same as allowing it to be plagiarized and selling knock off versions of it. The modernized handbook style can be recreated with a variety of other designs, colors, fabrics, etc. without blatantly copying the exact design and selling it for cheap. It's her award-winning piece obviously she doesn't want it to be plagiarized and then sold without being given credit.
