Have you watched True Beauty?

I watched it because it was kinda entertaining but the plot is painfully cliche: "ugly"/normal girl involved in the typical love triangle with the cold/handsome rich boy and the bad boy that's a softie deep down. Add the comic relief friends/family and the friend turned a "bitch" because of jealousy and you have all the cliches together. I was mostly watching for Inyeop and the hilarious little brother at the end. And I was more interested in Suho/Seojun's friendship and their flashbacks with the other friend than the love triangle tbh.

I was only watching it for the funny parts tbh, Kang Soo turning into a bitch was so predictable, of course they had to ruin two girls friendship cause of a dude

They and Jungyeon mom and dad were the funniest couples to me.

Same with the 2 guys. Their friendship was already broken but they still had to make them fight over a girl like it always happens in all these stereotypical love triangles. I'm sick of the same shit in every drama tbh.

i loved almost every part of it but i love cliche dramas, and this one was so funny too so

couldve lived with less seojun parts but yea (or if he just stopped yearning after 10 eps and they couldve just turned it into a cute friendship instead then i wouldnt have minded his parts)

I'm in the episode 14 and the plot is: basic rom com but with main roles with internal issues. Their internal issues are more interesting than the high school romance cliche (LJG bare face insecurities and bullying traumas, KSJ dad issues, SH and SJ sadness bc Seyeon). Agree about how a pretty girls friendship ruined cause of a man.

The story is dynamic but not deep. Each 70 minutes episode goes fast.

OST is so good (the official like Yuju and Chani songs and the unofficial like Maria- Hwasa, Copines-Aya Nakamura, Love You Like a Love Song slow version)

tbh it feels like gangnam beauty 2.0 minus the typical love triangle. Coincidently Eunwoo is the male lead in both dramas lol. Only that gangnam beauty pulls off the concept of "ugly" better and the plot was more interesting and engaging imo. True beauty is not necessarily bad. The comic relief is funny and all but it get kinda boring halfway with little to no plot development.

Overall I quite liked it (even though I'm not completely done yet). I recon that it was full of cliches but the actors sold it well. I especially love Moon Ga-Young cause she's really a good actress, however, I do prefer her in other types of roles.  My only real complaint would be that they rushed it too much at the end with the time skip and stuff. If they want to pull something like that off they should have added more episodes, so they could flesh out the "issue" more and further develop the relation between seojun and jookyung. They should have made it 20 episodes and let those two try to date for a while or just skip the break up part which felt hella forced, just unnecessary drama. They could have used the remaining two episodes to show their life going forward and to properly tie up loose ends, without focusing as much on how suho and jookyung get together.

And his character is basically the same too. The popular "cold chic" guy that's actually warm and caring inside.

omg i guess mine is gonna be an unpopular opinions? Bcs i really started liking seojun, he was so dopey and hilarious just a fake bad boy tbh. I only watched a few eps but when i went back onto the illegal website ads kept popping up and closing my browser, the third time it happened i got pissed off and gave up. I could've guessed what happened at the end tho. I never made it as far to watch the friend become evil so that's sorta sad to hear 😞

I don't need to watch it to know the plot 😂 anyways all I know is that cha eunwoo can't act

Edit: the dislike 😂

Please even the second lead got so much attention being a newbie compared to eunwoo who's only selling point is his face

I might watch it when I don’t feel like watching something that requires all of my attention

i read a decent amount of the webtoon, but the plot is a bit boring after a while, so we will see if I actually get to the show

Yeah this is why i dont think ill be watching the drama because even the webtoon got boring for me after a while. I was also a seojunist when reading the webtoon and it dont seem like he was portrayed too well in the drama lmao
