It's a remake? no wonder it sounded like a 1st gen song

Yeah, it was originally sung by SM in-house composer, Yoo Young-jin and released in 2000. They were going to release a remake for it in 2019 as part of SMTOWN's '4 Loves for Winter' project but that remake has not appeared. Instead, we have a rendition provided by aespa, which was released today.

I'm not sure if this is a step in the right direction to get them more recognition from the general public in Korea or international fans but I love the song and the girls sound great. It would be better though if the MV had a storyline instead of choreography and if it was released on Christmas.

Mmmm, issa a no for me.

This release does nothing for the girls and would've been better off as an SM Station release in December. While most of the vocals are nice, you could've told me a group like OMG was singing this and I would've believed it. It's very bland and could've been done by anyone. The vocal runs that they were trying to do were quite soulless.

As for the video, again, it should've been a December release. The choreography was incredibly weird when they were sitting down and should went completely in on the Frozen/WG "Nobody" mic concept. Them shoving the digital version of the girls watching them at the end was incredibly creepy. So far they've shown no good reason as to why they added the whole avatar concept to the group.

I'm really hoping that the next release will be Aespa's "Ice Cream Cake" moment, cause at this point I'm becoming uninterested.

I'm shocked, they didn't really showcase their vocals in Black Mamba. Here they sound fantastic, especially Ningning. I love her vocal color! The MV is pretty too. The avatars kinda look cheap to me though, SM needs to up their budget to make them look better lol

Was this suppose to be released in December or something?

The original, sung by Yoo Young-jin, was released as part of a Christmas album in 2000. They were going to do a remake of the song in 2019 for the 'SMTOWN 4 LOVES for Winter' project and release it with that in December 2019. Plans fell through (i.e., the remake was not released). For some reason, we're getting a remake for it now.

Is this like a real comeback? Because if so, it's very underwhelming.

It's a special single. The main comeback will happen at a later date.
