i thought i was gonna hate it but i kinda like it

i can get used to the vroom vroom vroom skrrt part for the rest of the song

just wish they'd done something a bit different at the end instead of just repeating the chorus the same way again, the build up before it is so good and then they just repeat the same stuff again T T

...ok. the song isnt horrible. but the concept...seriously? does starship really think they will catch interest of people who arent fans already?

srsly, why? why do they insist on producing such genericness? why?

yeah, i weirdly like it. i held off on commenting since cravity's title tracks have to grow on me, lmao (their albums are perf tho). although it's generic, it's really not as generic as the last two releases were, so i consider this a good step up! it's also a lot more catchier, too. probably their best title track in my opinion.

but like... i'm starting to think after many comebacks, starship really wants cravity to be their own sm group. from the exo-like concepts earlier to the new nct-sounding track, which is a given since the producer is behind lots of nct's stuff. it's just... very interesting...

i just wanna know what was going on exy's head when she was writing this tho 😭 the fact that she's the sole writer on this track makes me laugh a bit

I don't see that much exo in BATR and Flame but My Turn is 100% NCT. The outifts, the beat, the shoots, etc all scream a mix between Dream's Ridin and 127's Punch. Funny how everyone thought they were gonna be more like early seventeen/astro with a cute, soft and fresh aesthetic but they went the "badass" and noisepop route. But you're right this at least has a bit of more edge than the other 2 that were painfully generic.

Speaking of Exy, I saw a post in twitter saying that she did this to "set them up" because WJSN wasn't getting comebacks and I know it's obviously a joke but it's funny that she wrote lyrics like vroom vroom vroom skrrt LMAO.

it's not really the sound that reminds me of exo, but their concept and lore! with their powers and all. which was why starship got a lot of flack since a lot of it seemed really similar to exo, and even the music video sets too. their sound is definitely more of... nct, but toning it all done by 50%, lmao. which sucks because they have some really good b-sides. just seems really interesting that starship seems to be focusing on sm more than ever with cravity. really hope they try to make them stand out though.

lmaoooo. i mean, we are in dire need of a wjsn comeback. they usually always started off the year with great music, but it was weird how 2020 seem to broke that. it would suck if we're now entering the stage where mid-tier groups are now going to be doing one comeback a year. lovelyz seem to be headed this way as well.

You're right, their prologue teasers always have this superpower/sci-fi stories but at the end they don't use anything of that in their MVs so...At least EXO used their powers in MAMA and I don't remember if they did it in other MVs too but for Cravity it seems like they have prologues/teasers with a EXO-esque story but their music leans more to NCT, especially here in My turn. Flame also reminded me to CIX's Movie Star because it was more leaning to sensual/mature than "badass" like BATR and My Turn but obviously Movie Star was WAY better lmao.

Yeah, I'm surprised they only had one comeback last year and it wasn't even that well promoted. I think Starship is probably preparing a new gg (Wonyoung and Yujin's gg) and they'll probably debut in the second half of the year because Iz*one is probably getting a contract extension. Sadly when a company have new groups the senior groups seem to slow down their activities. It's indeed happened with Lovelyz too, they only got one comeback while Rocket Punch got 2.

bless movie star. probably one of the best debut songs i know (and it kind of sucks how there aren't that many cix supporters here... there's not even a badge, lmao). i think the main problem for cravity is a great build up, but a very very weak chorus. and not just a weak chorus, but also a chorus... that doesn't even sound like it should be part of the same song, lmao. which then falters the structure of the song and makes serim's and allen's raps feel really out of place and awkward. i got this mainly from flame, which kind of made me not want to listen to it since their raps ended up sounding really cringey smh.

yeah, probably! i know they got a subunit last year, so it seems like they're going to venture off into those areas for wjsn now. i'm excited for a new gg, but i hope an izone contract extension isn't in the way. they're my favorite group, but... that just sounds like a bad idea. it'll just garner more hate from the public who already know them as "rigged-dols", but also from fellow wanna one and ioi stans, who are still very much active.

i feel like oh my girl might end up with one comeback a year too, tbh. even though they're wm's most profitable group, and they're on a rise now. one thing that can kill a group as well is over-exposure. i think this year might be the last year we'll get two comebacks (even though last year only had one) and we might be seeing more from them as solos or sub-units. and it's really interesting because, even though they only had one comeback + a literal viral hit last year, that was back in april, it didn't feel like they were gone for that long. their presence is huge in the industry right now. they're probably going to use the long breaks in between comebacks to polish up on their concepts and songs, which is smart imo.

I think CIX lost a lot of momentum between the long hiatuses and none of their following title tracks being nearly as good as Movie Star, but they still have a decent fandom. I'm intrigued to see how their new comeback will do, because the concept seems to be much more soft and colorful. And I agree, Cravity usually have good verses/bridge but the choruses are painfully generic which ruins the song. The verses in this song are probably the best out of the title tracks though, the vocals in particular are great, especially Jungmo's and Seongmin's.

I love Iz*one but if they extend the contract for a few more months it'd be kinda unfair not only to IOI/W1/X1 but to the rigged out trainees too. Also I don't think Starship and other companies are willing to do it. Starship in particular is clearly preparing a new gg and no way they don't include Wonyoung and Yujin with the attention they can bring to the group. In any case the girls from the companies with no concrete plans for a new gg could go on, like Hyewon, Minju, Chaeyoung, Yuri, Yena (if she's not added to Everglow), etc. But we'll see.

OMG's case is weird, because any other company would've given them a comeback a few months after nonstop/dolphin to ride on the hype. I agree that over-exposure can backfire but in other cases it's actually worked. Twice or RV have had even 3-4 comebacks a year sometimes and most of them did well. I mean, Twice had 3 back-to-back hits with Cheer Up/TT/Knock Knock all in less than a year. Same with G-idle having a comeback only 5 months after Dumdi Dumdi...But yeah, it seems like WM isn't gonna follow that route and they're probably gonna give them only 1 comeback a year or 2 at most. But they don't seem to have plans for another gg or bg any time soon either so idk. It's also weird how ONF hasn't had a comeback since august when they should push them more after gaining some exposure in RTK.
