Allkpop? Really?

So a friend was talking about how allkpop has revamped their forum so I went and checked it out... and it seems the johnny that's active as a mod there is THAT johnny? Why are people still using that site?

Seems like they've implemented a way to encourage users to buy fake points to get money too lol.
Onehallyu doesn't have the best rep either but I'm confused why people are moving to allkpop of all places after the things we know about them...

Many people apparently do not give a shit, even though I've seen people here, on reddit, and on twitter warning everyone about it.

That's what so scary about it, ok if they're simply ignorant about it but if they know and just don't care....

Only older Kpop fans really know about AKP and its history

I mean, I've been a kpop fan since 2004 but I didn't really get involved with kpop forums until around 2012-2013, so I don't know about AKP's history other than that one of the admins or mods was Ailee's ex and illegally leaked extremely private pictures of her.

tbh, i started using akp since for the first time since i left the site in 2013 last year bc onhallyu is next to dead. akp's community is only slightly larger but far more active.  people just want an active community so they can chat shit at the end of the day. most of the users there have knowledge of how shitty akp is at being a "news site" and what a prick johnny is, but that doesn't make the community any less active. the site got revamped in the first place bc some 15 year old users started using johnny pics in their dps and spamming johnny's account  and he got mad at them so the revamp is basically punishment to the "toxic community".  but its actually surprising and a good sign that the news portion of the website is quite dead. they've even resorted to using user posts as "articles"... idt akp will stay as active after this.

I really miss being part of an actually active kpop forum and since AKP is currently the most active platform, I've done some lurking but holy damn do people act like actual children there.. OH is only a ghost of what it used to be, but at least there's some type of coherence to it

I assume most of the users are in fact children and the site is ran by manipulative adults. There's no other explanation.
