[theqoo] IDLE'S NEW SONG HWAA PART DISTRIBUTION
20210111_211325.jpg
Shuhua's only line is "light a flame"

original post: here

1. I saw the MV and it was indeed a bit severe...; It's a shame but she needs to work harder herself to improve her skills too. There are 3 foreign members in the group but if she's the only one getting this treatment, then...

2. She must be heart broken if she was only given 4 seconds...

3. I was wondering how bad she could be and listened to the song and found her voice nice

4. I was wondering if this wasn't too much but seeing her skills, I think that it's understandable.. She needs to put in more effort.....

5. Even so, 4 seconds is just too much

6. No matter how you see it, isn't giving 4 seconds among 6 members too severe?

7. I saw the MV and I think it's understandable... wow this is severe

8. But Shuhua's parts have always been doubling over other members no?

9. I thought giving 4 seconds was being too much but I understand after watching the video...

10. (G)I-dle has always given parts based on who does well

1. 4 seconds is freaking being too much ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Her line ended with just one breath

2. No but they are 6 members and she only has 4 seconds,,; me too, if I was her fan, I would totally boycott this

3. Shuhua's parts keep on getting smaller so of course they'd be disappointed...

4. I don't know if she was given 10 seconds, but 4 seconds is too muchㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

5. I can understand why they are sad but I don't think that they will help Shuhua at all with this...

6. Severe

7. 4 seconds is seriously too much. It's not like they had many members either

8. I didn't listen to the song so I'm not sure about her skills but skills aside, 4 seconds is eba. They are not even giving singing parts to a kid who is supposed to be a singer. Then why did they debut her? Me too I wouldn't want to buy their albumㅋㅋㅋ

9. I would have acted the same...

10. To be honest, I wouldn't have bought it either

[enter-talk] ISN'T I-DLE'S SOYEON TOO PITIFUL???

She was the one who wrote and produced the song so she must have been involved in the part distribution to some extent

But Shuhua was given no parts. If I can speak coldly, if they gave her a lot of parts and she ruins their live, the team image will be ruined too.

Fans are always asking Soyeon to give Shuhua more parts but Soyeon is freaking pitiful. Even if she wanted to give her parts, she wouldn't be able to pull it off so what do you want her to do?

Stop telling Soyeon to do this and that about the part distribution

When it comes to skills, the group is above average but I think that over 80% of why I-dle are seen as talented is because of Jun Soyeonㅋㅋㅋㅋ to be honest, even if you are their individual fan, you shouldn't touch Jun Soyeon

2. [+279, -2]
To be honest, they wouldn't have been this solid if not for Jun Soyeon...

3. [+168, 0]
This time, all the lyrics are in Korean so Shuhua has even less part. I can understand why Shuhua has less parts

4. [+119, -1]
To be honest, it's a fact that her skills are lacking

5. [+105, -1]
No... I don't understand why people are cursing at Jun Soyeon.. She's someone who pulls off both rap and singing so it's possible that she gets more part;;; when they went on Sugarman, I could only hear Jun Soyeon's voiceㅋ

honestly yes. as much as i love shuhua i have to admit. her vocals are vary lacking compared to the rest. and hwaa is such a heavy-vocal song. i honestly can't see myself her taking other members' parts. yes 4 seconds is a bit questionable.... but what can we do

honestly its just useless visual tingz, victoria invented it in spice girls. shuhua is making bank without having to do much, dont worry about her im pretty sure shes fine lol if she wanted more lines she would get vocal training

i mean alot bigger groups give alot equal distributions, Soyeon makes to song to my knowledge, cant she make one suitable for all members like Woozi does? Shuhua needs to improve too, but Soyeon too can create songs that actually allows her to have more than 4 seconds of lines. I think because these are more unknown territories its not discussed alot, however, its not like they purchased the song, its made by Soyeon herself. She could easily make changes to allow Shuhua to have more lines, unless there is company disagreement.

However, I do know in some cases, lyric amount is determined by company, if thats the case, what Shuhua fanbase is doing is most logical.

I can't wait to see another Soyeon hate thread on here/Twitter about her being jealous of all the prettier girls (???) and giving most parts to herself, Minnie and sometimes Soojin (who I think are not only the 3 prettiest members who don't fall into the Korean beauty standard so they get grief for their looks despite being gorgeous, so I really don't get these kind of comments because all 3 are pretty, but are also debatably the best live in their respective areas, Minnie in singing, she's the most stable one, Soyeon in rap and Soojin with her dancing and stage presence). I believe that Shuhua can improve herself, her performance and her singing if she works hard. She can pull a Taemin for sure and I'd love nothing more than for her to do it. Look at Miyeon, for example. She has a pretty good voice, but she tended to be somewhat flat live and she worked on it and improved herself and her hard work is really paying off and she's getting more and more lines and even the songs seem to be more suited to her specific vocals and I love to see it. You can tell she worked on it because it shows. People love putting Soyeon down, some of the criticism she got was very valid, some of it is just ridiculous, but she works hard and makes the group what they are, in my opinion (they all do, but she's key). I'd personally like to see Yuqi get more lines. She has such a pretty, unique vocal (all of the vocal line have really interesting tones, Minnie is like honey, Miyeon can be so strong and sharp and Yuqi has that depth) that I want to hear more of. Minnie has my favorite voice, but I'd like to hear Yuqi shine more.

Edit: Though I do feel, the same way international fans have a hate boner towards Soyeon, Korean fans have one for Shuhua. They're especially hard on her for every single little thing, and I can't help but to feel it's not just her lacking something, but it's also fueled by xenophobia. Which is sad, because she is a sweet girl. Makes me want to see her improve and succeed even more because I want her to shut them up with her skills.

Shuhua gets the chorus parts though too and these line distribution people are always wrong. They even gave Shuhua's lines in Maybe to someone else during Oh My God era which led to so many people hating on Soyeon.

Even Soyeon's Chinese fanbase were unsatisfied with her solo activities (lol) so they didn't donate this comeback, I wouldn't take the Chinese fanbase's stances too seriously lol

(G)I-DLE have reiterated this many times: they are the ones who decide on the line distribution together, not just Soyeon dictating. HWAA came out because all the girls agreed with the way it was put out. Not to mention Shuhua gets a lot of center time this comeback despite her solo lines not being that much. As for Chinese fanbases' opinions, you can see above.

im sure they are fine with it, im not blaming anyone, im just saying this could be alot balanced, as they are the ones who make the songs o.o i expect some type of agreement, as thats how groups work, its just interesting to not change certain areas in song and idk, give her maybe at least 5 seconds or so, at start, soyeon's some lines could easily be given to her, it seems like sacrifice based on how song will sound, and to cover that up, i noticed they gave alot of centre moments in dance parts to Shuhua. It makes this somewhat equal in my view, still they can do at least slightly better distribution

I did heard Soyeon talking with girls about songs, but didnt heard line distribution part thank you for telling me *^*

Sorry for the tea... The truth is Shuhua is just not pulling her weight. She was supposed to be the center visual member but has been overshadowed by EVERYONE. Imagine Yoona of SNSD, who also doesn't get a lot of singing time, not being popular enough to be the center/visual. Also, with Shuhua's real life quirky personality, I can never become convinced when she tries to do serious/charisma songs that are the signature of G-Idle ie. Lion and Oh My God. All her parts don't mesh well with the song, like her part in Oh My God, that feels tacked on and lacks any gravitas, especially when she come right after Soojin.

I’m more surprised that minnie has more lines than miyeon who is the main vocal (if I’m not wrong)

they both are main vocalists as confirmed by miyeon herself

but minnie usually does have more lines than miyeon lol but the difference in this song is like 2 seconds so it doesn't mean much

(G)I-DLE’s Shuhua’s Chinese fanclub said that they will stop buying their album

AbG4VCg.jpg

“Hello. This is Shuhua’s Chinese fanclub. We apologize, but we ask many people’s support in the decision that we just made. After opening the Chinese fanclub, we have continued to support all activities of Cibe Entertainment and always participated in distribution for album purchasing for the group. We even participated in the work during this comeback as well despite not having enough work force. Also, we held events within our fan club to encourage fans to purchase albums. However, we were disappointed that Shuhua was only given 3.9 seconds of line distribution and 17 seconds of MV appearance in the new song ‘HWAA’ that was released today at 5 PM Beijing time. This is very perplexing to us fans. We believe that the agency’s role is to reasonably plan to help the improvement of their artists. However, according to various circumstances, they have not paid attention to Shuhua. Rather, Shuhua’s individual part in songs have decreased since their ‘Oh My God’ comeback. Shuhua’s fans in China have been disappointed because of this. Shuhua’s Chinese fanclub will seize all work distributing all albums with the support of Chinese fans and will focus on supporting Shuhua’s individual promotion. We will resume work once Shuhua gains the part fitting for her.” cr

1. I would be mad too if my bias only came out a little bit in the MV and got a few parts in the song

2. Less than 4 seconds is too harsh

3. But why did they choose a kid without skills? Face?

4. If she didn’t have the skills then she shouldn’t have been included in the group in the first placeㅋㅋㅋㅋ The agency is weird and it’s a 6-member group, and 4 seconds is crazy

5. I think Shuhua always get minimal parts

6. Shuhua lacks skills, I know that. But the leader is the producer, can’t she adjust to avoid the noise like this?

7. This song doesn’t seem to suit Shuhua.. However, from the fans’ point of view, the fans must be so sad

8. This is the first time I’ve seen a company decrease an idol member’s part like that, especially since they’ve been promoting for a while

9. I thought this was crazy, but since I watched the MV and listened to the song, it seemed that it was the only part she could take on…. The song itself is too difficult to sing

10. 4 seconds is too short

I don't blame them. It's honestly frustrating. I can understand her Korean isn't so great but what about screentime? Isn't she their visual? If I didn't know IDLE was an 6 member group I probably wouldn't even realize that Shuhua wasn't there.

All while watching HWAA, I was thinking "where is the other girl? Aren't there 6 of them?" And then, there she was at the end for only 4 seconds. She was basically nonexistent.

If they're not going to give Shuhua any lines in the title track, why is she even in the group? I don't care if people say "oh, but Soyeon discusses the line distribution with the group, they're all satisfied," the end result is that one member of the group is irrelevant in the track they're going to be performing. There are only 6 members, it wouldn't be hard to give her those short parts in the chorus, for example.

because more chinese members the merrier for gaining cfans loyalty. simple

however - the lack of lines/screentime is doing more damage, so cube probably should try to fix the problem, since cfans are not accepting the whole everyone is fine with it

Least lines i get since shes sub vocal etc. But they should really give her more screentime. 4 secs sound severe but i just looked it up to compare and yea on 6 member grpup when others get like...15-35 sec etc. Tge distrib to me look "fair" until shuhua looking at the pie chart

And ik soyeon gets a lot of crap bc she makes the songs but like..yall realize.. yes she makes the lyrics herself..co composes but her name listed first so she's main composer. But producing shes listed 2nd with coproducer. Cube def has some say so even if soyeon wanted to lessen her parts and give shu more lines cube would block it bc of how known she is ofc their company will want her to dominate somgs. And this isn't me saying soyeon doesmt deserve her producer-dol credit just cuz she has help ofc hhh but i mean it prolly isnt her choice 100% how the distrib comes down.

  • love locked this topic

it's not the song, the exact same issue was brought up when "Oh my God" came out. I know that singing isn't what Shuhua does best but at least give her some screentime, love the song but watching the MV makes me sad smh

Spoiler

Even Vivi and Gowon of Loona had more lines in their latest comeback. And they're 12 lmao
