It’s not hard. Girl groups do it. Boy groups just be tryna be all manly and hard. They really enjoy doing the intense glares and body rolls and stuff because they are attempting to display their sexual prowess through performance so that many female fans will want to hook up with them.

Agreed, there is so much more competition now, and it’s hard to stand out, so instead they try to fit in,  then these trends start to feel ubiquitous. I think that’s why the complaints about this from kfans seems sudden because they probably pay attention to the trending groups mostly, and if you think about 2020 music from IKON, NCT, ATEEZ, Stray Children, The Boyzzz, Astro, Monsta X, etc and the last comeback from EXO who is the most popular group, there is not a lot of the “refreshing” concepts so they miss it.
