There is one point that Korea forget, when a group goes with a typical Korean Public Friendly concept, they are deemed copycats of other groups or ignored because there are too many groups. A lots of of these groups are now working thanks to international fans.

Yeah I think teen idols would be the best comparison. Idol adverts are everywhere in touristy areas but hardly anywhere in other areas of Seoul unless it's BTS or Suzy (her face on soju bottles lmao). Adults don't care for idols. It seems like there's a phase that younger Korean people go through to be a fan of kpop but then grow out of it--this kind of reminds me of Disney because every child watched their shows but most of us lost interest aside from the few people who still like Disney sitcoms. I'd be willing to say that the majority of fans are very young, probably high school or middle school aged.

Edit: forgot to mention that Cha Eunwoo is everywhere, Irene is as well. Not bc they're idols but because they're both the 'top visuals' and are being used as solo models to sell products.

ah interesting. at least idols get lots of adverts in touristy areas tho. i don't think any western teen idols are even relevant enough for that, they just get to be featured on lunchboxes and stuff for children lol
