Former Johnny's Jr admits that Johnny Kitagawa slept with his trainees

ARAMA Japan held an interview with former 7 MEN Samurai member Koki Maeda discussing various topics relating to Johnny's entertainment. The most notable moment of the interview came when they asked him about Johnny's sexual abuse allegations. Maeda explained that there were Johnny's Jr members who hoped to sleep with Kitagawa so that they could debut, and that he had slept with some of the Jrs.

Johnny Kitagawa sexually abusing his artists has long been an open secret in the entertainment industry. In the 80s and 90s multiple former trainees shared their stories of sexual abuse but mainstream media has not dared touch the subject for fear of getting blacklisted by Johnny's & Associates. Even now it is incredibly rare to see Johnny's talent mention the issue. Kitagawa died in 2019.

So disturbing. It's good that there is an effort to stop this history from being buried. Kitagawa may be dead but sharing these stories helps to stop these sort of things from happening by other people in positions of power.

Another reason to have checks and balances in place, in regard to the welfare of company employees and overall power, when it comes to entertainment companies. It's absolutely mind boggling how much power J&A had over the industry like blocking rival male groups from performing on certain TV shows for many years for instance.

I just hope going forward aspiring and current idols are better protected and legislation needs to be put in place for their benefit.

Holy...this has been an open secret for so long but I’m glad it’s seeing the light of day.

absolutely, even if everyone knows something horrible is going on, if it's never explicitly talked about in mainstream dialogue then nothing will ever change

I know it's been san open secret for such a long time now, but it's very disturbing and makes me wanna vomit. There's a very special place in hell for people like Johnny Kitagawa and I hope all his victims, can find some sort peace moving forward somehow.

It's heart-breaking that even after Johnny's death, ex-JE artists/trainees still have to couch their words with "I'm not saying that it's sexual abuse"
to describe a situation of sexual abuse.
If a CEO like Johnny allowed his company work environment to become so toxic that some artists/trainees believe that they have to sleep with him in order to debut,
then that CEO was committing sexual abuse, specifically sexual harassment.  [x]
And considering Johnny's Jr has underage members/trainees, Johnny was also committing child abuse.

Unfortunately this story is being buried again.
The interviewer says that the part in the interview where Koki Maeda confirms Johnny was sleeping w/ his trainees has been removed by request. [x]

Yes, he asked me to do it. But the screenshot is everywhere now though...

The story is getting some attention in Japinan now. Nobody has come forward in decades. A group of boys came forward anonymously in 1999. The last one to come forward under his own name was in 1996. There was another in the late 80s. And now Koki is #3.

The thing that pisses me off now is that people are getting mad at him for outting Johnny as gay. That isn't the thing to be mad about!

This! It is important to talk about and draw attention to past events because it may trigger a positive change for the future. It’s so sad for the victims, truly disgusting how people abuse their power.

I was reading about the Yunho incident and I realised that A lot of this men have been sexually abused in younger age as we speak. Sure I really don't support these men and they need to own up and take responsibility- but as this is quite prevalent in the industry, maybe they have been brought up to believe that they can be the perpetrator after they grow up.

Ex-Johnny's Yamashita Tomohisa was caught in such a situation and I wonder if he was one of the kids assaulted by Johnny Kitagawa too.
