Big Hit Japan will launch the [Big Hit Japan Global Debut Project] to produce artists who will start in Japan and go on to perform on the world stage.

K, Nicholas, EJ, Kyungmin, and Ta-Ki, who were introduced through the show β€œI-LAND” in 2020, will be part of the project, with additional members to join after auditions called β€œ&AUDITION.” The group will be debuting in 2021.

They're doing the application process really fast. o.oΒ Doesn'tΒ really give them much time. Either Bighit/Belift have some trainees hidden and/or they don't plan to add that much more to the group from the audition process.

Who knows curious how big this group will be. 7-9 members or will it be even bigger

Also I wouldn't be surprised if this group debuts in the 2nd or 3rd quarter of this year.

Sakura Inoue (Performance Director)
After graduating from Japan Women's College of Physical Education with a major in dance studies, she moved to the United States. She worked there for about seven years based in LA. She assisted with the choreography for Britney Spears' "Womanizer" and "Circus" music videos (won the β€œBest Choreographer Award” at the MTV Australia Video Music Awards 2009). After returning to Japan in 2011, she has been active mainly in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and other Asian countries.
Team "S," which she leads, is known for its direction that leverages each artist's individuality and the unique choreography that the team creates together. She is involved with choreographing, directing, and other activities in a wide range of genres.

Soma Genda (Producer and Sound Director)
With his academic music theory cultivated since his childhood and exceptional sense of track making, he has gained an established reputation for producing a wide range of genres such as dance, rock, pop, electro, and background music.
The song β€œCrystal Snow" by BTS, which he composed, ranked #1 on the iTunes charts in about 10 countries around the world upon its release. The album β€œUntitled" by Arashi, which includes the song he composed and arranged, has been certified as a triple platinum disc.

Ryosuke Imai (Special Advisors)
His career started in 1995. Since the hit song β€œShake" by DOUBLE in 1999 that he worked on, he has created many works.
In 2016, he wrote, composed, and produced β€œHero” (Namie Amuro), the official NHK song for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, further establishing himself as a composer. In 2019, he produced β€œECHO” (Little Glee Monster), the NHK theme song for the Rugby World Cup.
Currently, he is expanding the range of his activities in areas such as discovering and training artists, cowriting sessions, and discovering overseas artists, with a focus on music production not only in Tokyo but also from a global perspective.

UTA (Special Advisors)
He is one of Japan's leading music producers.
In 2018, the BTS songs β€œDon't Leave Me" and β€œLet Go," which he worked on, reached #1 and #2 on the iTunes world chart. In 2019, β€œLights" by BTS sold one million copies, β€œStay Gold" reached #1 on iTunes in 84 countries, and β€œYour Eyes Tell" reached #1 on iTunes in 101 countries and #8 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100.
In addition to J-pop and K-pop, he has been expanding his activities through his good relationships with people overseas.

As it will be a Jpop group I could definitely see it being a larger group. I didn't expect it either but looking forward to what they'll be like!
