BigHit to debut Japanese boy group with I-Land’s K, Taki, Nicholas, Kyungmin, & EJ as members; More members to be added through auditions

BH is debuting their own Jpop group? So kinda like a male NiziU then.

I guess the new members they'll add will be japanese too because so far there's only 2 japanese members and it'd be kinda weird to have a jpop group where majority are foreigners.

I guess if this lowkey confirms that Geonu will be saved for Pledis bg probably, because Kyungmin and Nicholas will be debuting in this group and other ilanders left the company and opened social media accounts. Plus Hanbin is also debuting as a solo.

Their visuals are insane tbh

So they're gonna be indeed mostly focused in Japan but with the chance of performing overseas too. That's interesting.

I wonder why they didn't add Hanbin here and preferred to keep him as a solo artist. Nicholas and Hanbin debuting together would've been so cute, they were really close in i-land.

Yea basically seems they're a Jpop group - which jpop groups are like kpop groups they can perform globally too

Good question. I wouldn't be surprised Bighit gave each individual some options to pick from (not necessarily the same ones for each). And  the guys had to pick one or leave the company. (we know some of them did leave). IF Hanbin was given the option of Japan maybe he simply didn't want it. Being in this group means spending a lot time in Japan. Lik other have mentioned maybe Bighit see they can do something with Hanbin as a hybrid idol (working in Korea and Vietnam)

I wonder what are some of the other options. e.g. Go back to being a trainee - wait to debut upcoming Pledis group or even later Bighit next group.

That's true. Hanbin seems interested in being a kpop idol, not a jpop idol. So he might prefer debuting as a solo as long it's as a kpop artist or as a hybrid idol promoting between Korea and Vietnam.

As for the Pledis group, I personally hope Geonu is there. He didn't open sns account and he's not in this jpop group either so that means he's still under Belift/BH labels and hopefully he can debut there. As for the next BH bg, I think Daniel might be saved for that one since he's only a 06 liner. Other remaining trainees might be too old for that group, because even in the audition in BH site they asked for people born 2003 and onwards.

i also feel genou will be in pledis and daniel in bh

i wonder where jimin (01), youngbin (01) and sungchul (03) will end up (i believe they're the only three we haven't been updated on yet)

sungchul is a late 03 liner (dec d.o.b) i can see him as one of the older members in bh

Sungchul could be in BH next bg but the other two either could be in Pledis bg or just leave the company because they don't have any more options since they're not gonna be in the jpop bg either.

Also, unrelated but I wonder when they'll start teasing the plus global gg members? I'm seeing a lot of people in stan twitter mad about this bg announcement and saying they should've started to introduce the gg instead. My guess is around mid january (like the first TxT teasers).
