Asian men have always been portrayed in a negative light by western media, constantly being de-sexualized and considered "non masculine" so this doesn't help at all. Idols infantilize themselves. It's still gross, but it's not really the fault of fans if their faves are going around aegyo-ing everywhere each promotional cycle. It's a complete misrepresentation to say that fans who think idols are adorable are doing them a disservice when it's literally the image their agencies are trying to promote. It's serious if the artists related are bothered or they "discredit" the bad deed the artists did due to them "still a babie". I see infantilism is common in everything liked by women, and it would be more common for east asian artists. I rarely see men did this to grown adults.
