It's cringey, but it ain't that serious?

I mean, they have a point. Asian men have always been portrayed in a negative light by western media, constantly being de-sexualized and considered "non masculine" so this doesn't help at all. Not to mention talking like that about any grown adult is just weird and creepy.

It's cringey af, but fangirls have been doing that since the dawn of time.
It's not that deep.

The op in the quote tweet is right. Like someone on Twitter mentioned, would you say this stuff about any of the western celebrities you follow?

First person experience, yes. Not me, ofc, but I've seen many One Direction fans acting like that. Also, back when I was a Tokio Hotel fan (ancient history, but still) I remember super cringey baby!Bill Kaulitz fanfictions, fans calling him their baby etc.. As I said, common (cringey) fangirl behavior since the dawn of time.

Kpop idols sell an infantilized image. A cycle that everyone participates in.

yup this.  Idols infantilize themselves.  It's still gross, but it's not really the fault of fans if their faves are going around aegyo-ing everywhere each promotional cycle.  It's a complete misrepresentation to say that fans who think idols are adorable are doing them a disservice when it's literally the image their agencies are trying to promote.

"you won't see people do this with black people," said twt users. Is this true?

It's serious if the artists related are bothered or they "discredit" the bad deed the artists did due to them "still a babie".

I see infantilism is common in everything liked by women, and it would be more common for east asian artists. I rarely see men did this to grown adults.

Yes. Black women are portrayed to sexy/badass women & fans treat them as such. Most of their fans usually make references to them being grown, sexy women
