Which aspect of kpop are you sick of in general?

the overly competitive nature of fandoms.

i don't know, i feel we kpop fandoms are a lot more competitive with one another then western fandoms. there's always kpop fandoms fighting about something. most times over petty or irrelevant stuff.

perhaps the kpop industry makes kpop fandoms this way. plus ifans are influenced by kfans/kfandoms.

the toxic competition (to the point where any group who's not 1st place in a category will be called flops even if they're making millions) and when idols practically get forced to do fan service like they're our little dancing monkeys

The rabidness and viciousness of delusional fans

The constant lookism

The ignorance of idols' mental and physical well-being

Excessive competition

How artists who are not from sizeable companies or lack connections are at a very huge disadvantage

overly protective of their idols like male and female idols can't even interact let alone dating each other without getting hate

"forcing" their faves to do stupid fan service

competitive and like to compare how their faves are more successful like chill can we just enjoy their music

I don't even know where to start :.

The fandom, their delusion, the fact that all that matters is bragging rights, fans don't even hide that all that matters are numbers, keep on streaming even if the song is bad because we need to brag !

How competitive it is, especially among fans. Fans don't even know what "enjoying music" means anymore.

The lack of diversity in genre of music, rock will never stand a chance for example no matter how good it is or how talented the group or band is.

And let's be real... how fake it seems sometimes.

But the worst for me is

The fact that idols are scared of their fans, I enjoy artists actually calling out their "fans" or people acting like it even if they know they'll get backlash, it always makes my blood boil when I see a fandom being ... jerks (if I try to sound nice) and idols just keep quiet, letting "innocent" people getting destroyed/bullied because OMG if I do this they'll turn their hate towards me.

I feel the same during dating scandals, I always feel bad when for example one part of the couple gets a lot of hate by the fans of the other and yet they only apologize to their fans, their other half is getting hurt for NOTHING and yet protecting them is impossible.

Well in short : FANS !

-Like other people have said, the toxic competitiveness. I like the healthy competition because it's nice to see new groups rising and challenging the established top groups but one thing is that and another the obsession with the sales, charts and views to the point of calling everyone that's not #1 in the charts or that don't sell at least 500k a flop, or dragging/bashing fans of less popular groups as if following a "flop" group was shameful.

-The woke culture and cancel culture. Calling out idols when they make a mistake is a thing but calling everyone racist/sexist/homophobic for the minimal stuff is too much. Not to mention the whole "CA" thing simply for wearing an outfit/item/whatever of other culture. I don't see the problem as long they're not mocking or offending said culture and it doesn't warrant bullying an idol for that.

-GG stans thinking that constantly bashing BGs and BG stans for existing is "feminist". It's okay if they prefer stanning ggs only but can they leave bgs and their stans alone for a freaking minute? It's becoming nasty.

-The double standard of "it's not okay to assume idols' sexuality" when that can be applied to fans who think that all idols are straight too.

-The excessive lookism, especially with male idols. I see a lot of people (especially edgy gg stans) in stan twitter dragging groups that (according to them) aren't "visual groups" when looks are subjective anyway.

The fans. They judge you for who you like, judge you for what you don’t like, just the judgement.

The companies.

The fact that older groups are deemed too old to perform according to younger group fans.

This is so true. I always find weird how kpop fans call idols over 25-30 hags when western artists are still performing and releasing hits in their 40s and even 50s.

The constant ranking

Fan voting

Western media mentioning kpop groups for clout

Fans blind faith towards their idols

General direction of boy group music nowadays (Everyone sounds about the same, esp 4th gen)

Nuest getting nothing under BigHit (yet they lose MAJOR endorsement from NCSOFT due to weverse thing)

the obsessive talk about sales, YouTube views, charts.

million sales being the must met goal. there’s a difference when exo reached that because no one had done it since 10yrs and it revived the album selling market, and there’s a difference when bts were able to sell pass that because it was a first. nowadays it’s expected and if you don’t reach it automatically it’s called a flop. like that’s the standard of what is considered successful and it shouldn’t be. it’s draining the impressiveness imo.

treating idols like they’re innocent babies.

fans forcing themselves to like their faves songs.

older groups being considered flops despite still doing extremely well.
