What extreme things have you done to protect yourself from covid?

Perhaps like quarantine stuff you buy for 14 days before using them?

Or reheating every single food item that you buy from outside?

My stepmom made me remove my shoes and put them in a plastic box that she would close and put in a closed room. Then I had to leave my bag in the entrance hall and she would force me to take a shower before letting me roam around the house. That was when I visited my dad and I didn't go back again since then ...

Except very early on I was wearing plastic gloves everywhere outside. But that was before a lot of research came out that showed the virus doesn't really contaminate surfaces, so it really only seems extreme looking back.

I do quarantine the packages I recieve, but I hear 5 days is enough. Still, I use some Lysol to wipe them down before getting them in the house and using them. I also use different shoes to go in and out, and slippers to go around in my room. Take clothes off and wash them after going out and shower immediately. I didn't use to use gloves to wash food and dishes, but I do now; also use a few drops in dishsoap for extra cleaningness. Also carry a bottle of sanitizer/alcohol with me everywhere I go, in addition to my mask, and a face shield if it's a crowded space. I also didn't order any takeout for months until I caved in for some pizza.

 

Covid-19 is out of control where I live.

I just follow whatever guidelines are currently in place. Restrictions are pretty lax right now, you just have to wear a mask in public and limit social gatherings. After full on lockdown and curfew, that's basically nothing.

I didn't go outside the house for two months (including my own yard), if that counts as extreme, but that wasn't really because I was scared of the virus or something, I was just super lazy
