Do you think groups from Big 3 and Bighit are better than the rest?

they have better resources, higher budget, a better pick from the trainees out there

SM even has some government funding I'm preeeetty sure. If they don't now, then they used to.

So in a sense, what they put out is objectively better. Their reputation also means they get to be the trendsetters, whether they "deserve it" or not lol

Personally I find them unappealing because I dislike their position in the industry... and supporting nugu groups is fun because who doesn't love a good underdog story?

There's all kinds of people in the world. Maybe not the groups but I'm sure there are some members who feel like that and I don't blame them...if I had fans and media treating me like royalty I'd naturally develop a certain...feeling.

And for fans ofc there are some stanning just for the bragging rights, most fanwars are just ego.

why do we kpop fans talk about companies so much haha

many popular american artists are from well known companies with resources and connections too.

at the end of the day, the music and group dynamics is what matter most to me when stanning.

tbf, expect Motown American record companies and management teams have different roles, while the Korean agencies do everything from selecting the trainee, training the idols, debuting and managing them, producing the songs/mvs, distributing their music, deciding when or how they comeback and which members get to have solos...Korean idols literally couldn't exists the way they do without their company while American artists can and do change labels all the time. i'm not saying one method is better than the other, but if your record company controls every aspect of your career you might want to rethink that "partnership". TVXQ were the first to break out those "slave contracts" and things have improved since but not that much...

you're right, this is true

the relationship and roles is a lot different

edit: i guess the biggest issue both share is lack of ownership of their music(?) taylor swift, kanye and others have expressed their hate for production companies.

basically this

resources is obviously the biggest factor but I think people also underestimate the huge advantage that comes with being able to draw in the best visuals and talent (plus train them with the best instructors, and usually for longer periods of time)

but there are lots of other companies who have hidden gems, talented producers, innovative ideas, etc which sometimes leads to groups that surpass big 3 quality

Cube groups, FNC groups, Big Hit groups that why those companies have grown

They have bigger resources, so that means more budget to hire good producers, creative directors and obviously to pick better members for their groups but that doesn't mean smaller companies don't have many talented people that make good music too and have creative concepts too, so no, I don't think big3 and big hit artists are necessarily better. They just have more resources and connections.
