What kind of fan are you?

Fan 1: You're on the look out for something new and always know the newest groups and look for the latest songs.

Fan 2: You listen to what you like and then occasionally listen to newer stuff but don't really care so much about it.

I'm more of Fan 2

Hardcore #2

I've been a kpop fan for over a decade and have wasted a lot of time obsessing over certain groups lol but I don't think I was ever really a type #1 fan even at my koreaboo peak

Part of it is that I like leaving some music unlistened to... leaves more to discover for when I get bored

Honestly I bet most people who reply to this thread will be a type #2 too

I think people who are really interested in being on the "cutting edge" of kpop releases are more likely to use platforms like twitter to keep up with the constant influx of information instead of the... frankly slow pace of this forum lol

Used to be #1. When I first got into K-pop, around 2009, I always tuned in to Music Bank to discover more groups and songs. Moreover, it led to looking for K-pop news sites, and forums. (Can't count how many sites and forums I had joined. Lol)

Currently, #2.

I was #1 at first but for yrs ive just been #2. I actually barely listened for kpop for months earlier in this yr and thought i was over it for real. Tge issue was for me its such time commitment and with working 6 days a week since covid started. I also spent 90% my free time watching movies.  So yea... now tbz on rtk ..i actually still paid attn to tbz when i was "over kpop" but yea hhh.. & startimg to listen to izone i had to be like...yea no i still love kpop. But now barely watching movies...i need to find a balance. And i don't see myself as really checking out everything as it comes out. Ngl i only really pay attn to my fav groups release, maybe an occasionsl mv by grpup i used to stan or casually like.  Like i don't even check out the songs of the top groups and am like 😐 as everyone is just talking ab them. But i had an idea recently that i wanna (re/)listen to kpop by year and make playlist bc i like too many songs 1 overall Playlist is too daunting. So ill prolly hear all these songs i skip eventually to find if i like them.

Excuse me this forum used to be faster and wider than twitter community 😤

But yeah all you said is true. Even in its prime days, OH is mostly house for #2 fans.

Oh I'm #2. Idk if it's age or what, or I'm just lazy, but when I first started into kpop during 2013-2014 I was so active finding updates for new releases that I knew almost every debuted groups.

I'm a bit in between. I still check many new releases from groups I don't stan, but I don't get into new groups as easily as I used too. I used to stan many rookies but I haven't got much appeal to rookies this year, the last rookies I got into are TXT and ONEUS last year.

When I first get into kpop back in 2014, #1. I had kbs world channel on my TV cable and would watch every kpop thing that came across that channel. Oh also Mubank. I don't mind watch everything from start to end even though idek anyone lol. But year after year I grown out of that phase and more fan #2 now.
